2.8 pulley no tune?

K, I have an issue that my tuning shop doesn't have the pulley puller tools and what not needed to switch out my pulley. I have found a shop that does by my place but is like 20 miles away from my tuner. Would it be safe for me to get a 2.8 pulley and gm stage 2 belt put on at one shop and drive safely under 3k rpm and don't go into any boost to my tuner? Thanks for any help.

What injectors are you running? If you change the injectors you just about have to change the tune.

If you stay on stock injectors, or whatever you are tuned for. Swap the pulley and belt to 2.8/stage 2, you would be safe to drive over there, just don't go into wot/pe.

Yeah, I plan on having stock injectors until I get to my tuner and then will be putting in 80lb ones in there cause he will also be tuning me for e85. Thanks for the help!

Oh, lol, just realized you are the one that also sent me the pm so you already knew that now.

Yeah, I'm getting one shop started on HPtuner. They went and got it for me. RS motors in Burnsville and will be getting tuning from a guy named Ron. My friend goes through him for his car (not a cobalt) and I have heard from many others around he is the best at tuning around here. Everyone says that nobody can beat his Evo's. A completely different beast I know. I trust him and know that he and his shop guys have been doing a lot of research before they decided to pick it up. They even told me they've been around on this forum before I even asked them to check on here. I'm sure he will be a little conservative at the moment but it will be an ongoing process anyway. Any info or tips that I could tell him would be appreciated because I know you have said you tuned your own. Thanks.

Yeah I'll pm you tonight with some tips that I have learned with e85. I am just looking out for you. Just because they can tune evos dont mean they are familiar with our platform.

Sounds great! I'm sure he will appreciate any good tips as well. I'm sure he isn't just getting hptuners for me. So, if he is good at it I'm sure he will try and branch out with it.
