The 42lbs/hr injectors should be good enough for 300 whp since our system flows more psi than that (62ish?). But the only reason I'm risking it is that I had it professionally tuned by someone who knows what they're doing. If you don't hook your **** up to HPT w/ an AFR gauge and log the hell out of it, how the hell will you know what it's doing with that modification? Intakes and exhaust are one thing, but if you're increasing airflow on that level, you should take the appropriate steps to adjust your PCM calibration for it...
I agree with you about watching afr's and ltft as well as idc's. I have done enough loging/tuning on my friends vetts and gto's to know what is safe and what isnt. I like others out there are kind of wondering will -0.50 of an inch gonna make that much of a differance if one is already running a 2.9 on a stage 2. Im all for being safe, but just a little curious if one can get away with a 2.85 set up and also not be beating the **** out of there car. I like to drive it hard from time to time but only in short bursts, for the most part I drive it easy. Cant afford a ticket and seems to be to much traffic when Im out.

I can't recall anyone blowing up their goodies with a 2.85/ 42.5# combo...maybe you know the name(s) off hand.

has anyone tried speaking to GM themselves about why they chose 42.5# injectors and maybe how they determine injector size with their setups?

Yeah, they're all self-tuned when someone doesn't know what they're doing or canned tunes that aren't the best or people are throwing extra mods in when the canned tune doesn't account for it...
