2 ways to get more tension with smaller pullies

I feel like I need more tension since going with the 2.8 pulley, after searching supporting vendors I found two options,

http://www.ottperformance.com/Cobalt...duct_info.html

this is a larger than stock tensioner pulley... price, $18.00

and

http://www.zzperformance.com/cobalt_...=447&catid=142

this is the adjustable tensioner from zzp, price $109.99

keeping the prices in mind do you think the larger tensioner pulley will do just as good as the adjustable tensioner?

Just run a stage 2 belt, that will be fine with the 2.8.

What squeaks? Just the belt?

What brand pulley are you running? I ran a 2.8" for two years on a stage 2 belt with nmot problems.

make sure the belt isn't loose / off track. Try using some belt dressing and see if it stops if not. Or... make sure it isn't something else squeaking.

did we forget about the crank pulley? adds more tension, boost, and more surface area grip for less slip

they didnt recommend it cause of the bolt. it was only supposed to be used once. but they are now selling the bolt with the pulley, it was torque to yield

The oversized tensioner pulley requires you to remove some material from the tensioner unit itself so it does not rub. Imo if you are fine with that its the best option becuase of price. I ran the oversized tensioner and stock belt on a 2.5" setup for 3 years with no issue.

If you don't like to modify the tensioner pulley there is always a new stage 2 belt you could use.
