I dug around and could not come up with a definitive answer. Can I make a 3" catless downpipe not sound like a Civic w/5" exhaust? I noticed some people were running a short Magnaflow resonator but does it help? I have the GMPP exhaust and I like the deep tone and do not want to ruin it.

P.S. I have HPT and can turn off the 2nd O2 so that is not a issue.

 

It will sound louder and raspy...a good resonator will help as will a good muffler but it won't get rid of the sound altogether. On the factory catback it will sound horrible.

 

hes not running the stock catback. He has GMPP exhaust...

Im 3 inch catless with stock exhaust and it really isn't much louder than it was before. I have zero rasp, doesn't sound like **** or anything. I have the clear image 4 into 1 header and their 3 inch stainless steel catless dp.

Thanks guys, I kinda figured it would sound ricey. I dont think I will loose too much power with the ZZP/Magnaflow downpipe. Its not much of a cat anyways.

Maybe I will do a shorty header with the cat downpipe and it will help it out a little more.

 

I have ZZP midlength, 3" custom catless, 3" custom xhaust w/ ZZP's, Flo-Pro resonator, magnaflow oval muffler and hooker resonated tip. It sounds deep and mean w/ no mroe rasp than my 2.5 magnalfow catback. Nearly as quiet as my old 2.5" catback at idle and totally liveable at cruise on highway, barely even noticeble. Most others around me w/ 3" sound WAY louder than mine does at idle, cruise, and WOT is not annoyingly loud on my setup
