3k clutch dump

so i was talked into doing a 3k clutch dump from a dig last night and well it didnt go so well. It didnt seem as if the gears were being caught, there was next to no pull or anything. It sounded just like i was revving the engine. whats wrong? is it just the clutch slipping or is something wrong with my engine/tranny or what. help

probably clutch slip. don't do that anymore. no reason to dump the clutch at 3k unless you're trying to snap an axle.

if it did hook up you would snap the axle. but good luck hooking up doing that. I bet the clutch smelled really good after that.

it's called a slipping clutch. don't do it anymore unless you want to seriously break something.

no boost as in no boost pressure or a swift kick in the ass from your seat?

You'll break an axle doing that for sure.

what clutch you have doesn't matter if you know what you're doing. It's the axles and other parts I would worry about.

dumped above 4200 and snapped an axle

done pretty well the first couple times though, I got tired of launching low and then having to chase down my opponent

Now I have lots of beefed up parts so Im not worried about it but feathering it will always give a better launch than just dumping it

l8r,
PD
