It's in the 90's here right now, but for some reason the idea of an A/C delete gives me the chills...

Fabricate something of your own?
A bracket, some form of bearings and a light weight SC pulley should do the trick?

Thats what I was gonna do originally, but wanted to wait to see what comes up, and compare prices on it, and what I would need to make my own.

why not go to a competent parts store and start looking for a shorter belt. I'm in just about done going turbo on my lsj and have removed all of the a/c lines but still have the compressor on. I might still take the compressor off seeing as gm makes a belt for non-a/c base cobalts.

i'm pretty sure AC was a standard option on the cobalts. you can get a belt for a non AC cavy though

eh i never use my ac anyways bc the car runs like ass with it on so why not imo.
i can make my exhaust make different notes by just flipping to the different fan levels with the ac turned on lol.

that may be but when I picked up the belt for the conversion they had a belt with or without the compressor.

gutting the compressor is stupid. if you ever decide you wanna sell it or put it back in then you gotta buy a new one... why burn money if you dont have to.

you have to make some sort of bracket with a idler pulley. its the only way. the way the routing configuration is set up if it doesnt go around the compressor pulley the belt will rub itself you would need a lightweight pulley similar in diameter to eliminate belt slip unless you go with a custom belt length.

as for using a belt from a cavy or a 2.2 balt... the ribs arent the same one has 5 ribs and one has 6.

AC was not "standard". A buddy of mine bought a 2010 LS (must have been a fleet car) because he did not have AC.

So we installed A/C ..
