A car with less HP, but a better TQ curve is going to beat the other car in a race everytime, and is the faster car. That's why this challenge is stupid.

If it nukes, you have the best LSJ builders at your side

But at the same time, Dan has the most 2.5" cars under his belt, and not one has nuked from his tune.

yes, we would replace the engine. It would be another motor of equal or lesser miles.

I'm posting as quick as I can type but the debate has moved from a discussion of facts and science to ridicule, mockery and a celebration of ignorance.

I can't even reply to people who think that water raises gasoline's octane making it comparable to race gas. I just can't respond to notions like this.

Pretty sure no one on here injects straight water with these kits. Most people do a 70/30 and 90/20. No one is saying it's the water raises octane or makes the power.

They just know no one will bother to take the challenge. Not worth our time, not worth theirs. Won't solve a damn thing.

IIRC the guys at OTTP were going to take the challenge (they are close by), but ZZP apparently didn't want that.

Are you even reading this thread?

For one, people are saying this. For 2, they would be right. So in both your statement and your implication you are wrong.

Intentional or not, you are not telling the truth.

We keep saying meth injection, you keep saying water injection. I don't know of a single person that sprays 100% water with these kits.

well zoomer, its agreed that water helps resist fuel from burning... which is what octane does...

We didnt say water rasises octane.. we are saying it has teh same effect.

Sounds like you and WSFrazier need to talk

This makes my point more than yours. The myth and confusion of the kits is perpetuated by people thinking that water and meth are similar or can be mixed with great results, etc. They are completely different substances. One is a combustable fuel of high octane that makes more power than gasoline in boosted applications. The other is nearly the opposite robbing the engine of HP and totally non combustable.

It's like confusing CO2 injection and N2O injection and then debating on how a mixture works well. No mixture works well. One promotes combustion and one puts it out. At some mixture you'd have gains but CO2 can never help you make power just like water can't. Both will allow more boost and timing, both operate similarly in that they can reduce temps, allow leaner mixtures, etc. However neigther water, nor CO2 can help you make power.

1. any of 18 isomeric saturated hydrocarbons having the formula C8H1 8, some of which are obtained in the distillation and cracking of petroleum.
2. octane number.

octane number

–noun
(of gasoline) a designation of antiknock quality, numerically equal to the percentage of isooctane by volume in a mixture of isooctane and normal heptane that matches the given gasoline in antiknock characteristics.
Also called octane rating.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octane_rating

what is the main objective of water injection.
