aftermarket boost gauge ??
So I'm looking into a Defi boost gauge, i hate the factory autometer. Does the car throw a CEL with the boost gauge disconnected? Has anybody changed the stock one? Where did you splice in for the wiring and vacuum lines?

No CEL on my boost gauge. I bought the 30/30psi mechanical Autometer ultralite II boost/vacuum gauge. I simply wired my power to the pink wire originally running to the stock gauge and grounded it off under the dash. Boost lines are fairly easy to hook up. Find your MAP sensor, cut the vacuum line AFTER or BEHIND the MAP sensor and install you "T" there for the aftermarket boost gauge. Here's a little help:
-----(vacuum line)------[MAP sensor]--------T--------
Of course off the "T" you'll run your vacuum line to the gauge. Hope this helps

With the boost gauge unplugged, it won't throw a code, but with the MAP sensor unplugged, no boost will be made.
Well...boost will be made, but the computer won't know how much so it'll run pretty crappy. I experimented and made the conclusion that my car will only make 2.6 psi with the "t" on the wrong side of the MAP sensor or if the MAP sensor is unplugged.
