Any stageII DIYers?
Have any of you installed your own stageII kits? I am curious as to how difficult the process will be. Which parts were the most difficult? Obviously removing the S/C pulley will be a pita. Also, how much louder was your SC with the smaller pulley?

The blower is is easy to remove. 4 bolts, 2 elec. connections, and removing the intake pipe where it attaches to the throttle body. The injectors are a little harder to do because of the space alloted, but other than that it's an easy day. Oh, you will need a pulley puller to swap the pulleys. Make sure when you drive to the dealership, that you keep in low rpms, like under 3000. Have them reflash the PCM and viola enjoy Stage 2 until your clutch starts slipping.
just like any other belt. use a wrench to pull tension off the belt and slip it to the side. once you have it off one pulley it will come off the rest no problem. But make sure you pay attention to the routing just in case.

Actually you have to take the supercharger off to take the fuel rail off to take the injecters off. You can change pulleys with the supercharger on. You might need help and if you don't know what your doing your best bet is to let the dealer do it.
Changing the pulley with the blower on is damn near impossible. It is much easier to remove it. The fuel rail is held on by three 10mm bolts. The rail/injectors pop out after that. Each injector has an elec. connection and metal clip for removal. Easy days people. Oh, the wrench you need for the tensioner is a 15mm. The instructions that come with the kit are pretty decent, and do include pictures by the way.

You can do the fuel rail and injectors with the blower on. I know I just did mine.
GM wouldn't make a stg 1 kit that required you to pull the blower.
For the pulley, with a Cobalt, you CAN NOT pull the stock pulley or press on a new hub with the blower in the engine bay. Redlines may have more room than we do, but it aint happening on a Cobalt.
Now once you have your new hub in place, YES you can swap out different pulley rings without removing your blower again. HTH
