its back to hearsay, question....who has run into any problems with Stage 2 and 2.8? We have beat the IDC issue to death, just want to know who has had problems, not HP Tuners says my IDC's are over 100% so i swapped them out.

I have ran my 2.8 with my stage 2 for 7 months no issues at all, not saying its the best setup, just want to know if any problems have occured with people and this mod

i wasn't refering to the idc, i was refering to the injectors going static at 6600 rpms on stage 2, on a 2007 car. i myself am not 100% positive the idc calc in hp is anywhere near right anyways, thats the least of my problems.

my problem is the injectors going static is was proven by three different wide bands. that is my problem right now. others may not have this. stick a wideband on it. it takes all of 5 mins to check and see

This thead is asking for a simple answer to a complicated question.

A stock exhaust car is going to have 3 pounds more boost than one with a full exhaust setup. This alone will change how the injectors flow. Remember that fuel pressure is constant but it's the difference in boost to fuel pressure that determines injector flow rate.

To determine if the fuel pump is too small to run 60's, you simply need a fuel pressure gauge with a small pulley and 60's to see what happens.

On the ZZP sites they say you can run up to 2.85 on stock injectors if you have a complete exhaust setup. Link
So there should be no problem to run a 2.8 on stage 2 with a complete exhaust setup right ??

I would not use the stock injectors on a 2.8" with a full exhaust. Why not get some 42.5lbs with full exhaust. It's not like the injectors are so expensive that you should cut that corner.

you can push the limits if you'd like and probably run for a while but IMO its gonna mean BOOM. I was maxing out the 42's everytime I went passed 6000rpm with my 2.8

Stock injectors are maxed out with stock pulley
2.85+ = 42's
2.8- = 60's

I'm going to edit that post with some information we have now about this engine and what is safe. I would not run a 2.85 on a stock pulley unless you plan low shift points.

I have been running the 2.85 on stage tune with no problems, b4 I slapped it on I did a search on the net to see where I was in relationship to sea level. If you are close to see level I wouldnt drop below a 2.99 just to be safe. If you want more power look towards exhaust mods and a tune

I live at sea level, literally. After about 6200rpm, my car does INDEED go lean really hard. I try shifting at 6000 now to be safe.

to the idiot that said that you can run a 2.85" on stock injectors... you're totally wrong. the stock injectors run over 100% dutie cycle on the stock pulley... on the 2.85" you'll run SUPER Lean & blow your pistons up.

I think the guy was refering to the 34# injectors with a 2.85... which is absolutely stupid...

I looked at our web page. It didn't say you could run a 2.85 on stock injectors. It said that you could run a 2.85" WITH injectors and that we didn't recommend smaller. I've edited the page to remove confusion.

I don't think there's anything wrong with 42.5's and a 2.80. you max out the injectors, but it's not dangerous.

I think 2.7 is in need of 60's... but not the 2.8
