Oh hey i just talked my my buddy "nomorehonDUH"lol hes has a mk5 gti 2.0t and his apr tune put him at 13:1 AFR lo but there agin he is FSI so that is a completly dif situation

Oh im going to do some tinkering on my fuel rail saturday ill let you guys know how it goes.
And i can tell that #4 is runing hotter than the others because number 4 tube on my header is a dif color indicating more heat thatn the others so we will see what happens.

Well i got bored and did my fuel rail tinkering today lol ill post up picks later.

But basicaly what i did it where the fuel comes into the fuel rail there is a tube that almost completly blocks off the first injector i guess the thought behind this is so it dosnt get too much fuel?
so i took a .200" drill and and drilled a hole into the tube. It seems to have helped butt dyno wise.
So denny you should consider trying this when you get the egt sensor.
do som back to back experimantation.

Weigh in

I have had my eye on this thread for a while.

I have a 2005 stag 2 SS/SC

5 months ago i out a 2.79 inch pulley on.

I got dynoed and the results were a A/R ratio of 10.5 at redline

I see a lot of people with HP tuners stating that the injector duty cycle is 120%

I recently saw a post where someone logged a stock SS/SC and claimed that HP tuners logged it as a 110% of IDC!

To me this suggests one thing that the calculations for the HP tuners is off!

We should have blown engines all over this site if the car was running way beyond capacity to begin with.

The only blown engines i have seen are the people with 60 lb injectors. the #4 cylinder seems to be going which me and a another SS/SC driver think is related to the fuel pump being pushed way beyond its acceptable performance.

i have 42 lbs. and a 2.79 pulley and have NEVER had any engine issues.

Had to weigh in yet again on this issue.

what % engine dutie cycle it is is completey based on how much fuel you tell the injectors push. that's why people with HP tuners see different dutie cycles. the tunes out here run around 100% dutie cycle on a 2.8" pulley with 42's & the AFR's are in the low-mid 11's.

Yes the calculation is off. Anything over 100% (literally) means the injector is staying open; of course an injector cannot open 120%. So, the true duty cycle is somewhere below 100% and is over 100% (as stated above) because of the AFR that is commanded.

The problem

The problem every one is having is the tune to get 20-25 extra HP and no TQ.

If you do not do a tune and use the MAFT and the 42 LB you can run 2.6 pulley and 3 colder plugs with water/Meth injection and run 270 HP and have a good runing car. Also using the MAFT can easly run 60 LB injectors if you need to. 20-25 HP and 500 RPMS is not worth the trouble of tuning and blow motors. You get a adverage of 6-7 HP from each LB of boost with no tuning. 42.5 LB injectors are good for 260 HP At 80%DIC 2.6 pulley with stock tune is 18.5 lbs at 6500 RPMS 6 Extra LBS is about 42 flywheel HP safely. 205 Stock HP + 42 =247 FLY wheel HP. Water/Meth adds 15-20 HP
247+15+ Total 262 FLy Wheel HP.

Werd. It look like he took all of the bad information from about 10 threads and combined them into one bastard post.
