Bad News!

I have had my stage 2, gmpp exhaust, 2.8" pulley, and Injen intake on for about two weeks now. I love it but I recentley noticed that my clutch is starting to slip in the high RPM's. I only have 2500 miles on the car and never once dumped the clutch. In my owners manual from chevy it says that the clutch is covered under the powertrain warranty. So my ? is do I get a new stock clutch from chevy and have it happen again because of too much power. Or do I go and spend $900+ for a stage 3 clutch? I really don't have the money for a new clutch but I don't want to go through the hassel from the dealer. Any suggestions?

you can get a spec stage 3+ clutch for like 700 some bucks

heres my advice... if you plan on modding more get the spec clutch

if you plan on keeping it as it is and it will slip easily take it to gm

if it doesnt slip for them you wont get your clutch fixed and they will not beat on your car to see if the clutch slips

learned from first hand experience

if GM warrants the stage 2 install and tune, they will warranty the clutch.
and i am not hearing that 240hp is too much power. nope.

Bumper to bumper excludes clutch disc, brake linings and other things of the same wear and nature.

but he is light at the end of the tunnel for you. dont drive your car hard for 5000miles. easy on the accelerator like your breaking the clutch in. I experienced the same thing as you (but I was stock). after a good winter with not much traction the clutch became stronger. This summer it has been abused like I would any other car I owned. I feel like it is invinsible with the power I have right now. I have done many burn outs at the track with no worries. also those pirellis will not make a sound if they are cold and they are slipping.

Hah hah, apparently you haven't spent too much dealing GM. You'll be lucky to get your cigarette lighter warrantied. As pathetic as it sounds, 240hp is too much for the stock clutch.

A few points

A) GMPP stage 2 cobalts having clutch issues is nothing new

B) Your clutch IS covered under your bumper2bumper warranty but...

C) A GM tech won't quick shift or hammer your cobalt on a test drive, so its unlikely that they will replicate clutch slippage

D) However, it can be argued that an aftermarket 2.8 pulley could be responsible for overpowering the clutch. Either way, if your dealership spots that pulley, they may give you trouble.
