sitting at idle, the car idles about 1k, sometimes it will dip down to like 500 or so and act like it wants to die, the a/f gauge will go to --- and in the red. im not too familiar with the cobalt and none of my buddies are either, maybe a vac leak? my buddy said clean my iac but i dont know where the hell it is

no problem man, i checked this out a while back and i want to actual get in there and do this on my car. I have some slight issues that they said would happen from this, and i hope that cleaning out my tb will help.

 

it worked for me. I had a idle hop like no other when i switched from gms2 pulley to a 2.95 with same tune... i cleaned the TB, and it got ALOT better... I still get it from time to time, but nowhere near as bad as it was

 

oo yes thats what your issue sounds like, mine would do the same at a red light! so I said f*&^ it and went got some cleaner took that tb off and it was so much better no more idle drops nothing just a nice per, and it only took me 10 mins max maybe
