Bent over by dealer for Stage 2 install
Man that is still pricey. I think mine was in the ballpark of $200-$300. By any chance did you get a quote from them before hand so you would have a estiamte on how much it would cost?

Your install price should stay reasonable. Mine was about $325.00

Wow. thats even worse !
make sure u have the exact cash in had to pay for the install and if they say it is more then what they told u before they started then tell them that u have to go to ur car and get the rest then just drive off.
My dealer is charging $157 for labor and I would be damn if I pay more. Man if you pay that much that is your problem. I would go pick up my car and do it myself and then find another dealer to do my reflash.
When I took my car to get Stage to installed, i had already purchased the 2.8" Pulley from Pulley Boyz, So i kind of swapped the two in the kit, so i didnt have to install it later..
Now a friend of mine works at the dealer, and i explained to him, if they have promblems, just take the Original one out of the glove box (left it there just in case)
they had a problem fitting the 2.8" pulley over the press on hub, apparently they have to freeze the hub, and heat up the Pulley just to fit it on.
THEY ALSO had a problem installing the ECU program into the car, it would get 90% done and just freeze, they had my car for a full 2 (mabye 3) days.... and i was only charged for 4 hours, because that is the max time GM is allowed to charge, cause if it takes longer they are doing something wrong...

I payed $260, that included the control arm bushings, solid engine mount, and solid tranny mount. It took most of the day, I would guess around 7 hours, but it was the foreman doing the work, so he kept getting pulled away by techs needing help with other cars. He did screw up and way overtighten the pulley bolts, though, so I can't say I got that great of a deal in the end.
yeah, i asked the dealer about installing it. they said it doesnt matter who does it will still be covered under warranty. so i plan on doing it myself, i am jus worried about how the pulley comes off. then they said they would re-calibrate it for me if i brought it in for $75. so thats the plan for tonight, hopefully the car will run well enough to make it 1.5 miles down the road to the dealer lol..
This is all horseshit about how "We're charging you more because it took us longer because we never did one before."
Man, if I ever heard that I start throwing ****.
I have a 2004 Harley-Davidson Sportster. For those of you who don't know, the bike was all new then - frame, engine, everything - so aftermarket support was up and coming at best. My dealer called me (without me asking) and said they had some new exhuaust systems they wanted to try out on the new bikes, and needed one that was broken in order to get some numbers. The offered to sell me the pipe of my choosing (we tried 2) for 25% off, dyno-tuned both pipes for free, and only charge me an hour of labor for the install.
I more or less paid $550 (including tax) for a $600 pipe, and had it dyno tuned and installed for free.
THAT'S how a GOOD dealer handels a "We've never done this before" situation. Use the customer as a guine pig so they can sell more later.
And that dealer sold one of the pipe I chose even before mine left the shop, so they made all thier money back before they were even done with mine.
