Question Best Exhaust/Intake Combo

Finally got the cashola saved up for an exhaust system and CAI.

Looking for ideas on the best bang for the buck. Not necessarily the cheapest but the better quality as well. Anyone try the sport version GMPP system?

As far as CAI goes...will the AEM or Fujita be decent at keeping water out as long as I don't try to see how much I can drive through??

Opinions needed...flame away!

OK, first you'll get many different answers for what you are asking. Mostly will recommend what they have because.. its what they have!! lol. So I'm gonna say Magnaflow catback and Injen CAI.

Many catbacks are of great quality, there are cheaper ones out there too, BUT you get what you pay for. Just go look for some audio files/videos and hear which one you like best.

Any CAI is good for the cobalt. No matter which one, K&N, Injen, AEM, etc. (hell, even the airbox), will get you the air you need and will suck up water if you drive in deep water

Magnaflow catback w/ injen cai. I have a hollow but deep sound and sounds good. It lacks the overly loud and raspy rice burner sound.

I have the GMPP performance (/sport) and f'ing LOVE IT. I have a Vibrant header/dp on there too and it sounds awesome when I really get on it.

CAI-wise, I have the Injen and I really like that as well. I bought the hydroshield for it for the extra $20 or whatever just for peace of mine.

I'd highly recommend both!!!!

best intake- stock w/ k&n filter and air box

best exhaust (unless u r runing alot of power)- stock with a straight through muffler and cat delet

or if u realy want to waste $700-$1k to gain maybe 5whp.......... but personaly id rather spend the money making more power.

if u dont want to belive me... not my problem

Of course you're gonna get 99% of people to just tell you that what they have is the best haha..

I'm one of those 99% of people.

I looove my combo.

Check the current COTM (Me ) I have all my mods listed and a video after all the pictures..

Lemme know what you think

Personally I have a K&N and GMPP Performance cat-back.

The K&N doesn't fit that great but looks good and sounds good and I trust the K&N filter. If you pull a code, you screwed up oiling the filter, simple as that.

The GMPP Performance cat-back sounds great! Really! I love the sound and have heard nearly all the cat-backs in person, and the price isn't bad at all. It pops and gargles on down shifts and has some drone on the highway, but it's not very ricey for a 4cyl!

But, it's a 2.25 inch exhaust and is pretty restrictive. If your going for smaller mods, like just stage 2 and bolt ons, I'd say this cat-back is a great choice.

If your gonna add a TVS or turbo later on, go with the Hahn cat-back. Sounds good and is a lot less restrictive. I'd also go with the RAW 3 inch intake if I was to do it over again.
