I own the OTTP H/E. It gets the job done and is built like a tank, so it can withstand some accidental/unexpected scraping.

The ZZP S3 unit is better by design and will keep your temps cooler, but because of its lighter construction it is more susceptible to being bent/broken by accidental scraping.

They both have their pros and cons but ultimately neither can match a Griffin h/e. The Griffin unit replaces the stocker but is twice the depth so it provides superior cooling with a single unit instead of having to run two h/e in series. It costs ~$700 though. Similar in price to a Hahn I/C for the T/C.

That's what I've heard too. Zzp more brittle but better at cooling. OTTP is tough with slightly less cooling. I'll be getting OTTP because of where I live.

Cobra H/E?

Basically you need to find which one works better for you and your needs. Here, with so much heat in my area, i'll be using the S3 H/E

I swear... I still have yet to see anyone keep cooler temps then my LSJ with a 2.7 meth, and a COBRA H/E!

After 4 back to back drag runs I kept a pretty consistant 110* IAT2.... The cobra does just fine!

LFP is Lightning force performance. They make a redline and cobalt h/e now. The one I got was for a mustang but its huge and does wonders. I got it brand new from a guy on redline forums for that price.

Thanks the one I got I believe but if you call them you can get one cheaper for your car.
Also when I got mine zzp didnt have any h/e for sale everyone was just getting a small cobra h/e

Does haveing HE effect the operation of your AC? Does it raise your COolant temps since its warming up the air before it hits your regualr radiator?
Does pumping all the extra fluid wear out your IC pump faster?

The air damn below the factory h/e and radiator pull air from under the car up towards the radiator, so factory temperatures are not affected at all.

edit: that LFP looks pretty good!

ZZP is brittle? Really? I distinctly recall seeing a post of the zzp h/e after the car was involved in a front end crash and it was dented back but didn't leak a drop. Don't take less weight for more brittle. They make their s3 in house IN AMERICA and it's top notch /thread.

it's not stronger and it's cheaper for a reason it's from ******* china people posting in this thread don't know wtf they're talking about.
zzp s3 is far superior in every way.

- no drain plug at the bottom that will catch on things and cause leaks
- better cooling
- better internal design
- weighs less than 10lbs

i could go on

If you want to talk 'best'... the Griffin HE from the GA cars is the best... but you will pay for it. And the only way to get it is to call up Griffin and beg to them to build you one.

As far as add-on front mounts go, the ZZP Stage 3 is the best you can get. It uses a real deal water to air core, with light weight end tanks. It is far more efficient at displacing heat from the coolant.

Next in line, you'd have the ZZP Stage 2 / OTTP system, which is pretty much a decent budget core made in China. It's basically a modified air to air core with channel stock end tanks. A fair bit heavier, and less efficient... but gets the job done.

Next is the ZZP Stage 1 / CXRacing / etc systems. They are a real budget core, with a real budget design. Usually a smaller, air to air core with channel stock end tanks. Even less efficient than the other deigns.
