Blown Piston Ring and a suprise...56k=death

Blew my #4 Piston Ring. Pistons themselves are in good shape, as is the cylinder walls.

Compression numbers were: #1 180 #2 180 #3 180 #4 120

Here are a few pic's.

and yes...i'm going to clean the motor up, I just haven't gotten there yet...

Now for the fun stuff

I don't have the money right now for a nice Intake Mani, so I bought Supercharger delete kit from a member on here for a hella good price.

s20g Turbo, i plan on running 20psi, and eventually cams, valves, and springs hopefully by fall.

My plan is to get the car running again with the supercharger, and once i get the bugs worked out convert to turbo. I have most of the turbo parts just waiting on a few things. and no i'm not going to use the cheapo ebay bov in the picture lol...

Turbo stuff

New(er) intercooler, the guy put like 2k miles on it, alot better quality than the original ebay cheapo intercooler that originally came with the kit.

Cheapo intercooler

This is just some of the stuff that I have photos of on my camera...i have more stuff in the garage, i'm just to lazy to take pictures...

ported supercharger with a 2.7" pulley on it now, and a 3" before. h/e, pacesetter header w/ a 3"outlet to a full 3" cat-back. solid tranny mounts...the usual stuff.

hahn tunes are pretty good, but This isn't a hahn kit. I'm piecing everything together myself.

If you need a tuner let me know. I will be out in Wisconsin soon to tune someone else. Hahn's tunes need a little work at times, I have fixed a few personally.

Those are some nice surprises. What made you want to keep the stock intake manifold?

Lack of funds for right now. As soon as I get my rebuild done and get it running right with the supercharger, I want to convert to turbo. Once I get any issues that arise with the turbo convert, I plan on selling the rest of my supercharger stuff and buying the hahn intake mani. I'm just trying to get the basic's worked out before I get into the advanced stuff...if that makes any sense.

When I get a better job and a second vehicle my balt is goin in storage somewhere and I am gonna tear it apart and put diamond pistons and **** in it, try to find a race cam all kinds of ****, then prolly do the hahn turbo kit.

I really want to get an extra set of stock cams in the next few months here, and send them out to get re-ground into 272's and then do valves and springs.

Having a second vehicle helps alot...i bought a ford ranger for 250 bucks and its still running strong...but not much to look at lol

gl on the build...

please do yourself a HUGE favor and drop your block/head off to get checked by a REPUTABLE machine shop. What may "look good aint always good" as Im finding this out the hard way. My sleeves were outta spec and my cams were shot but to an untrained eye they looked perfectly normal.

You dont wanna rebuild your motor to have it blow again less than a month later, definitely worth it to have that stuff looked at.
