Can anyone tell me why my 2006 cobalt ss/sc almost makes 15 psi, when i though the max was suppose to be 12 psi. Im on a stock tune, and i have a k&n drop in filter and a catback exhaust. can those two things cause it to make more boost?

wouldnt i get a check engine light.

 

or have really bad acceleration

 

I hit 17.5 psi on stage 2 no other mods. Boost can differ due to elevation and temperature. If you dont feel a loss of power abd everything is running well I wouldnt worry about it.

 

15 psi is usually GM Stage 2 territory, check your SC pulley and injectors to see if they are stage 2 parts, A clogged Cat usually makes you boost over 20 psi and you would not have any power at all, I went through that with my past cobalt.
