Build book for 2.0 SC from GM coming (not soon)
As many know I am trying to get everything together for the 300+hp build. I got a response today that is both good and bad, sort of. Here is the response.
Hi, Rod.
Thanks for your e-mail. It sounds like you are looking for a specific parts list for the 300hp build, is that correct? I don't have anything already made-up that I can shoot over to you, but will forward your request on and see what we can do. Note that we are working on a build book for the ECOtec Supercharged motor that will have all kinds of information. Look for that late this year. I do know that the 300hp cal is not currently available, but we are working on an 'off-road box' that we will make for sale. We are a little ways off from being ready with that.
You might want to take a look at our new Stage Two kit (P/N 17803229). It includes higher-flow fuel injectors, a smaller supercharger pulley and drive belt, and an ECU calibration. The result of this kit is 241 hp and 218 lb.-ft. of torque across a broad engine speed range. Plus, you can keep your warranty.

Hello
I hope that you can help. I own a 2005 Cobalt SS\SC and I am interested In building up my engine. I have read the 300+hp build articles on the GM Performance Division website. I have also read up on the Time Attack Cobalt's. I am interested in following the 300+hp build but while some specifications were give they are not complete enough to get all the right parts. There is also a dyno chart at the end of part 4 of the article that shows a 7850rpm redline.
Is there anyway to get the specs sheet on this build so the performance shop I am going to can follow an already done GM build? As well is it possible to buy a copy of the already existing tune for the 300+hp build in the article at http://www.gmperformancedivision.com.../23/ecotec.pdf having it sent to my dealer in which I bought my car so they can install it after all the other parts are installed.
To be clear I am not expecting to build my engine up with my warranty intact. I am attempting to simply follow a GM engineer's blueprint on how to get more performance out of my GM Performance car.
Your help esponse is immensely appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Sorry to wake up another dead post but GM did come out with the 2.0 LSJ Power Book. The part number for the book is 88958686. It IS different from the Sport Compact Build Book part number 88958728.
