a/c leakage, in cabin!

I really need help on this, i have a PUDDLE on my passenger side floor...

The ac drips water down from by the firewall, it seems to be coming from behind this black thing that i cant seem to move...

Has anyone has this problem, and how can i fix it? There is ALOT of water, like, there is standing water... It is the a/c for sure, doesnt do it when the ac is off, but, i cant live like that in florida, now can i?

Thanks for the help.
Andy

There is a drain that allows the water to get out of the ac box...sounds like it may be plugged. The AC system removes water from the air and if the drain is plugged you'll end up with what appears to be a leak.

The drain is in the firewall -- look straight back from the #1 sparkplug (farthest left as you look at the engine from the front) then follow that spot straight down the firewall about 15" you will find the square plastic drain pipe. Make a small hook of some wire and see if you can find any debris. If you poke something into it and water comes out you probably have a stoppage. The design is a little inane as it is level with the ground (instead of up and down) and allows debris to settle and then dry so it could be stopped up.

This happened to me. My buddy got in my car to go to lunch and notices it was wet. I then took a wire brush to it and a dead mouse fell out. My buddy, being the Honda fanboi he is instantly went into the "only a domestic woud do that" diatribe. When he went inside I popped open his door and put the mouse on his dashboard, feet up. When he went to leave he fell out his car laughing.

Pretty lame design overall, but really, its just a drain....
