Car Does not shift at WOT

It shifts fine 1,2,3,4,...then when going from 4th to 5th at wot it won't shift into gear. I've heard about a drill mod on camaro/t.a that you drill out the clutch line...anyone else know any fixes? Kind of annoying get going then cant shift into 5th.... its a bummer... Car is under warranty should i just take it to them and tell them to fix it?

Does the clutch pedal die or the tranny just locks you out?

You can take it to the dealership but they aren't going to do anything about it. They are going to tell you "concern is to unsafe to test for. vehicle needs to be higher than any speed limit"

dealer is going to say they cant test that and to slow down. the rev limiter would come on at 128 or 144mph (depending if your stock or stage 1 or 2).

id guess its an inherent design flaw in the transmission but they arent gonna fix it because it was never designed for that. its just like the old getrags in the v6 cavaliers, if you rev over 7500 with 200+ hp, it wouldnt shift because the case distorts and flexes, its impossible to get into gear until the rpm drops bellow 7500.

It sounds like a clutch issue to me.

well i've raced guys around here with stock/stage 2 cars and they have no problem shifting into fifth above 5500 ish rpms... Mine just wont go in till you drop below that mark. I might try that fix that the ta/camaros are using

I'm just curious as to why you are WOT shifting into 5th? Where are you maxing out 4th and why are you trying to WOT shift a stock car.
