cat back exhaust

I just swapped to turbo and i did have a 2.5 catback but now i wanna go three cause of the 2.5 being more restrictive. So i was thinking i was going to do a 3 inch menderal bent exhaust but i was thinking how would a full 3 inch no cat and 2 resonators sound? no muffler either

what do you consider enough power to run a 3"?
or on the compressor map side, what turbo flow rate in an ss will overcome a 2.5" exhaust?

I'll give you whatever help i can, seeing as people would rather give you **** AFTER you said you've tried searching.

I don't know the answer, but if you haven't already, hit up google and search: cobaltss.net "insert your question/keywords here" the search on this site doesn't work well.

Good luck man.

95% of the lsjt swaps cant utilize a 3in exhaust let alone get them out of the 13s

SS/TC's do just fine making 300+ whp with the stock 2.5" catback. Just sayin....

If you are looking for 400 and beyond, get a 3".

But there are also many with the ZFR still running the stock car back making over 400 whp so unless you're shooting for high 400's or more I wouldn't bother.

We can all give a range of what we think is best.

w/o actual testing, no one can say for sure. Are those ZFR's seeing full potential running the stock catback? Who knows. Unless someone wants to spend the coin to do the tests no one will really know the limit of a 2.5" vs. 3" on these cars.

im keeping my 2.5" dp for now, keep some torque. Got a 3" made today, all the way up near the subframe. little less laggy, better response. a little more aggresive noise too
