Check Engine Codes

I have an 06 Cobalt ss/sc that i have a header back Vibrant exhaust and Weapon R intake on it with new O2 sensors and MAF sensors also. i am having an issues blowing multiple codes for O2 sensors and MAF. these codes include p030,p036,p102,p135,p141, and p443. i was wondering if i am encountering multiple problems or if a tune with clear up these issues. any imput that i can get would be appreciated.

Fuse box under the hood.. EXH or EMS fuse when you look at the cover guide.. forgot which one it was, but its a 10 amp fuse. Check to see if its blown.

I know it will clear at least 4 of those.. keep an eye on it.
Basically, you shorted something out most likely when installing your exhaust.

No problem. Glad that helped. Funny thing is I have 4 of those those codes and I can't figure out why, really. The two for the O2, MAF, then EVAP.

My car can't idle for **** when that EXH fuse is in. Don't know why.

I had the same problem. The 02 sensor on the down pipe is the cause. The connection will hit the heat shield and sometimes cause it to short out blowing the fuse.

Do you think that the short would always cause the EXH fuse to blow?
I'm glad the OP's problem was simple, shorting something while doing exhaust work.
I still cannot figure this problem out, where I have most of those codes and a blown fuse, but replacing the fuse makes my car not idle, and pulling the fuse out; it's still intact.

How did you remedy your problem?

Whats the EXH fuse? When it happened to me the emissions fuse kept blowing.

Bust out the electrical tape and tape all around where you see the wires come out of the 02 sensor/where it would contact the heat shield. Worked for me.

It looks like they cut out some of the heat shield and have a custom pipe in this picture but you get the point, tape up where the wires come out of the one on the right.

EXH, EMS, whatever the fuse is abbreviated. The thing is my fuse doesn't pop. When its in the car can't idle. The car tries to and eventually dies. I'm thinking I should just go ahead and replace the Upstream O2, and clean/replace the MAF. p0030,0036,0102,0443.

Interesting. Have you tried a different fuse for the hell of it?

I don't think so.. I'll go ahead and buy a new pack of 10 amps.

I ended up just keeping a pack of them in my car incase it ever popped again hah. Its weird that it throws those codes and the fuse is fine. What are the codes for? I'm too lazy to look up haha. Also I would say check your cat to see if its clogged but you said the car idles fine after you take out the fuse so it would have to be something related with that.

P0030 and P0036 are something about the h02 low frequency or whatever for both sensors.
P0443 is low frequency to the EVAP solenoid(?)
P0102 is low frequency for MAF.

I know I'm throwing those, obviously because I don't have the fuse in to power those things.
How would I go about checking to see if my cat is clogged? Probably is somewhat, since I'm running rich.

Yeah, since the car idles without the fuse in, I was really hoping it's probably just a bad upstream o2. If not, dirty/bad MAF. I know, it would run perfectly fine if the rear o2 was bad. So, I'm hoping it's just upstream o2, MAF, EVAP, downstream o2. I just don't really have the money to throw parts at the car and see if it works or not. I'm actually bringing in the car for the power steering recall Tuesday of next week. Maybe I should pop in the fuse before I drop it off, lmfao.

BTW - Are you part of xceedspeed?

Those are the exact ones I had when my emissions fuse blew so I'm almost positive its that. Theres a sticky on here for this problem but I can never seam to find it when I need to show it to someone haha. Your cats probably fine, if it was clogged you would be experiencing higher psi and lack of power.

Yup, same name on there as here.

Gonna get fresh fuses tomorrow and see what happens. And that thread was merged into the mega thread.

Ah, okay. Was browsing on their classifieds and seen the same handle. Wondered if it was you or not.

So I replaced the fuse with a brand new one, cleared the codes, and it actually took care of all of them..

The only code I get now is P0132, which is the opposite of P0030, lmao.
Does it need to be replaced, you think?

Good to hear. Really not sure to be honest. I would first search up on Google to see if anyone else had this same problem but if not yeah that would probably be my next step.
