Clicking at idle

Alright I recently replaced my timing chain tensioner as I had quite a rattle thanks to a faulty tensioner. That went away but just today a clicking/rubbing noise started up. It sounds like it coming from somewhere near the pulleys. Loud at idle, gets faster as RPMs climb but once I'm over about 3000 rpm it's unnoticeable. Tough to really put the sound into words, best way is that it sounds like a playing card is stuck in a belt haha. I've read about bad belt tensioners or an exhaust manifold leak on here....any suggestions?

Also, I replaced my spark plugs when I replaced the timing chain tensioner.

Could be your supercharger coupler. I know mine sounded like that when I replaced it.

Yea I'm going to order a new coupler from ZZP to troubleshoot. Though I've heard that's more of a rattle within the supercharger (which I have lol) where as the sound I'm hearing is a rather distinct clicking...who knows

Hmm. I know i had the clicking sound at one time and it was my timing chain tensioner. you already replaced that so the only other two things I can think of is supercharger coupler or it could be a sticky lifter. ALso, i had a tick that the dealer said was a bad tensioner pulley.

So this may sound like a really dumb question but if there any tell-tale signs that the belt tensioner is bad? Belts look fine to me

If you look at the tensioner while the car is running, you should see tthe shock slightly bouncing. I had the same issue when I was supercharged.

If u can get a wooden stick (aka majic broom stick lol) and put it in ur ear while making the other end come in contact with engine parts, you might find where the sound is from. I would help you track it down if u came to my area. I live in pasadena tx

Alright now that I had a garage (been out of town last few days without one) I could see/feel small vibrations in the belt tensioner...definitely small but could that be a bad thing?

Also, the clicking/rubbing is much louder if you put your ear next to the passenger side front wheel...dont know if this helps with figuring out what it could be.

Car runs normal, no performance issues....but this damn noise is embarrassing when you pull up somewhere haha

The supercharger couple would sound like marbles bouncing around. So im gonna rule that out for u. Check for more slack in the belt than there should be.

Exhaust leak at the flex pipe. This sounds exactly like a playing card being slapped around.

Ok here are two videos so I can stop trying to describe what I am hearing. Ignore the rattle from the supercharger in the first vid....alright have a new coupler coming! The sound is definitely more noticeable near the wheel/passenger side.

I'm on the southwest side too. I'm near the beltway 8 and 288 area. I can take a look at it for you tomorrow if you want.

94,000 miles, stock exhaust all the way. It's just so odd how much louder it is next to the passenger side wheel lol
