Clutch Slipping...WTF
Agreed. I know that I can MAKE my clutch work good, but a better clutch will actually be good all the time, not when I treat it a certain way. Stock clutch is good for stock power and a good driver, but if you are making 280+ whp or can't drive stick very well, your clutch will not last you a long time.
What ive noticed in the SS/sc is that even a regular 1st to second shift ( just regular driving 2500-4000 rpm shifts) takes getting used to . I think its because 1st gear is so low that if you shift 2nd and let the clutch out too quick the RPM's are too high to mesh 2nd's higher ratio. What alot of people do in these cases is ride the clutch to avoid a jerky shift . But if you just wait for the motor's rpm to come down a split second , it's smooth as silk.
I've never owned an automatic , my other cars were /are ,1972 Nova SS 427CI W/4-speed , 1988 Z-24 W/5-speed, 1995 Z28 W/6-speed , 2002 Z-24 W/5-speed. My SS/SC is a different beast when i comes to shifting , it took me a couple months to get used to it .
