Cobalt dead at the track

So sitting at the track got to get pulled down the 1/4 mile strip I guess I launched it too hard but it was only at 2.5k the car runs fine but whenever I try to put it in gear it doesn't engage and just makes a loud clicking sound coming from under the car near the middle? Any ideas? I hope it's something simple

similar happened before and the memeber blew a hole through the trans case. i do hope your case turns out to be an axle.

Yes I have the LSD and it didn't make any strange noises when I launch it just horrible hop then it revved up and I pulled it out and tried to put it back in and just go down the track slowly but it wouldn't engage in second or first

yah you would have to break both axles for it to be that. sounds like a blown trans.

sounds like a transmission. i would think a broken axle would make a little more noticeable noise than just not going into gear, maybe im wrong?

I'm really hoping it's not, I'm clinging to the fact that It had Alot of wheel hop and broke the axle haha

did you look under the car yet? i went to the track and the same thing happened to me. when i put in any gear nothing would happen so when i got pulled off the track i pulled the axle right out. my control arm bushing were bad and i have no lsd so go figure. this was my aftermath...

if both axles are fine.......well you kno its the tranny

well to be honest, if you didnt even barely move then it would proly be tranny problem, but if you launched it and it hoped and hoped and hoped and you didnt get out of it, then proly axle

WRONG! you can most DEF blow ONE Axel on a G85 LSJ/LNF and not be able to move the car, Wanna know how i know? CAUSE IVE DONE IT! If he has NO gear's at all it's either a snapped roll pin or the trans is gone. Id hope for roll pin or axel,

Side note Cheese and rice there's ALOT of misinformation on here...

It does make a sound though, even in neutral when I was getting pulled down the track it was making the loud clicking sound I was talking about

yes and no. it could be the broken axle bouncing around while the wheel is turning....if not, possibly the tranny.

wheel-hop = axle... if it was ur roll pin it would of snapped between a gear change... also if it was infact a roll pin op would of stated he has no gears and the stick shift just sloshes around like stirring some soup... **** when i snapped my roll pin i melted 1st and 2nd gear together... thank god for warranty and cool techs. i had 15 miles left on my warranty lol i got my **** towed to the stealership. although i could of drove in 3rd gear.

Would a broken tranny make any sort of noise if that car was rolling slowly not in gear?

from what i kno, a broken tranny would make noise all the time and slowly you would lose gears or have excessive scratching switching gears......is there any fluid on the floor around the tranny area?

dude really, just go out and crawl up under your car and grab you axles and try to move thme if they dont come out or there is no visible break then your trans is fucked i dont understand why this is even being debated when he can figure out the anwser so easly
