Yeah its possible but the average person wouldn't go through this, just see the locking gas cap and say forget it(they may still do something to you in another way if they have anger towards you). Not to mention only a very small portion of the population would posses this key. One time i lost the key for my wheel locks and i got them all off myself using a couple 3/4" sockets, but again for most thieves wouldn't bother. Another example is car hoppers, they want to go around stealing stuff from vehicles, but most of them wouldn't bother smashing a window if the car was locked, even if something valuable was in clear view. Nothing will make something theft/vandal proof, but it will stop pretty much all but the most determined

 

i got a locking cap after i moved into my apt... i dont trust anyone....

I had a cust car like this once at my dealership but it was brown sugar and coke. We were able to clean the lines and injectors. Drop the tank and clean it out and everything was fine just took time is all. Try it before you replace it. If it works send the **** back
