glad to see the latino-americans actualying adding performance to their cars.

im tired of seeing 16-point-slow second civics and accords at the track with like 40 people around the thing cheering it on.

lol
good stuff though nice work

Prepped for paint:

yes...that's duct tape. Yes...I realize I'm suppose to use painter's tape. These are real bruises from a fight. Yes...I'm fine with that...I am Jacks smug sense of self satisfaction...(....couldn't help myself)

Primed:

Painted and Cleared:

Overall, there's a couple of runs, but it's not a show piece. I'm very happy with the result; and I promise, it has more of a candy red look in person than orange-red.

no sir. Laser_racer is a local powder-coater/tuner in my area. He did the supercharger, valve cover, and spark plug cover. He's also going to be my tuner when I'm done with the build.

Piktars!!! Part Deux!

So today's mod day started off slow...so slow that I had time to reorganize my tool box (somewhat)

Then, two hours later, these two gentlemen show up

And after several attempts to steal someone's exhaust

We were finally able to get to work:

ONE MOTHER-******* BOLT TOOK ME ONE MONTH TO LOOSEN AND Tom FIVE ******* MINUTES TO TAKE OFF!!!!!

Then five minute after the exhaust mani came off, we butchered my exhaust:

A comparison between the old and the new

And the new one installed (minus the downpipe from Hahn)

Old exhaust:

So...after all the exhaust stuff got done, we made gaskets for the throttle body to intake mani and installed everything in the front: (injectors, idler pulley assembly, intake mani, sensors)

So, for tomorrow here's what's left:

-Reinstall all the plastic that was removed (wheel wells and other plastic)

-Reinstall the front bumper and fog lights

-Send it to the shop

At the shop, the following will get done:

-Fabricate an O2 housing that will connect the turbo to the downpipe
-Install Downpipe
-Install Innovate LC-1 Wideband
-Install OTTP RSFS
-Tap oil pan with ZZP fittings
-Install oil lines
-Fabricate charge pipes
-Fabricate misc. hoses for brake booster, wg, bov, and catch can
-Tune by laser_racer ("laser tuned" )

Hopefully, everything, minus the tune, will take about a week.

the only bad part about today was that two of the thread holes on the intake mani might be slightly stripped. But it holds, so I'm hoping it will hold. We sprayed a **** load of copper gasket spray on the gasket material, so it should hold.

I was thinking maybe use loctite to avoid re-tapping the threads

unfortunately, no. I sold those bolts to the person that I sold my s/c kit to. Next time I supercharge my ride, I'll make sure to keep the bolts

no just making sure because if the bolts are too long they will run into the welds

that's the weird part about it. For almost two weeks I had the exact same bolts connecting the TB to the mani without a gasket, and I didn't have a problem with them. Now that I made a gasket (or really my buddy with the yellow g5), we had trouble getting those two bolts to tighten up. They still hold just fine, but they just don't tighten.

just a little bit of primer (like less than one coat). I covered it with duct tape shortly afterwards though.
