Custom Option B brackets?

Hello,

I have the stock coolant tank that I bought and I was wondering if anyone has found some brackets at the local hardware store that would be good for mounting the tank or if they have created their own out of random parts. Any ideas welcome. Thanks in advance.

stock tank, made a bracket that you cant see from a small alluminum bar 1" wide ( kinda looks like a [ bolted to the bottom of the bracket and to the engine compartment) and the part of the tank that has the hole and arm is on the bracket that held my stock air box in, that the sc cars dont utilize stock

the coolant hose is now routed under, so its gravity feed, that picture was right after i installed it

I did the same. Just took a thin sheet of aluminum, cut it, bent it in the vise, drilled my holes and painted em

Got mine from someone on here. You could also: Buy OTTPs Option B kit, get part number and buy from stealership, find any wrecked cobalt in a junkyard and get it there.

Napa. Beats waiting and paying shipping. Or make one. The hole is .040

I'll look at Nspa first, then crate engine. Is it .040 of an inch? Also, would modifying the tank to be flow through be more beneficial than just having the tank there for added coolant?

This, don't know why you'd buy from CED just that piece alone, it'll cost 10 bucks by the time you're done. Napa sells a whole + of different sizes just go in and look for barb restrictor or ask someone there they won't try to look it up on the computer like autozone

Not really, unless you plan on having a monkey in the bay to throw ice in it every minute

Good point hah. Not too many Napas around but I'm an Autozone guy so I will be going there first.

Could someone post up a link or picture of what exactly the barb restrictor is? Having trouble finding it. Also, where does it go in relation to the plumbing? Closer to the tank or near the bleed hole on the stock heat exchanger?

Just going to make my own now, simple and fast. I got a sheet of aluminum but I was wondering what your process was in making your brackets. Do I cut the little notch out for where the tank mounts and then bend it? Also in that picture the mount on the left side closer to the tank, what does that piece look like?
