Darton Sleeves

Looking at peoples opinions on darton sleeves thinking of building my own short block with those sleeves or think i should get the girdle block from zzp for 2 grand? looking at costs and comparable power levels. ideal power i'm looking for is 550-600. Seeing if anyone had used the sleeves or what

Darton sleeves are very expensive & they cost a fortune to install because very few people can install them.

A better option would be go with a zzp girdled block or contact "mrbelvedere" on here because he has some custom sleeves

For his power level it might be a better option but the sleeved blocks ecotecs have seen well over a 1000hp. Its big dollars though like you said.

That's what i'm leaning towards but if i do that i'm going to want the 2.1 block and i think the only way to get it is for them to assemble the whole block lol

thats a good idea, get a completely assembled block sleeved, with crank rods and pistons assembled from ZZP you will be 90% of the way there...worth the bux.

Or just put a running stock block in there. LSJ has a forged crank already.

Dartons sleeves are Not that expensive considering a factory sleeve price. And just about any performance machine shop should be certified how to install. Just make sure they are certified. Cost should be around 400-600$ or less. Only con is the darton sleeved motor will run a lil hotter do to the heat transfer of the steel.

Zzp makes a top notch girdled block. Pros better head gasket sealing.
Motor will transfer heat like stock for its all aluminum.

There's nothing really wrong with doing dartons or a zzp girdled block.

If i were you i would put out the extra money and just go with the zzp block it will be hassle free and you'll appreciate it more.
