well the water/ meth is most commonly a 50/50 mix and the basic kits push the mix at a certain psi that you can pick. more expensive kits are progressive aka more meth as you make more boost. you need to get tuned for meth tho and keep a good eye on your levels making sure you have enough at all times or your motor may go boom

so this is only for high boost aplications? would it work on a stage 2 or is there no need?

I'll more than likely hit 12's with a little less than 250whp. That's whay I'm saying. Probably more like 240whp. But we'll see.

I'm still on the stock pulley. So you can use cooling mods at any time. I highly reccommend putting all the cooling mods you can on your car, then throwing on some bolt ons, like i/h/e, and then pulley down.

ralliartist, have you considered a port polished head/professionally ported polished blower? that'll drop your IAT's as well as help you move some more air. you'll lose some boost, but the lower temps would overcompensate that, possibly allowing you to get a smaller pulley without degrading the already incredible cooling mods you have.

yea, thing is I'm doing this as a pioneer for those that don't want to pull the engine apart. I don't plan to take the motor apart anytime soon. The entire long block will remain stock for quite some time. My goal is to offer the most knowledge and proven tests for the other like me that want to keep their car as a DD but still would like to go fast.

Eventually, maybe in a few years, I'll quit with the bolt on mods and get serious. But I'd like to have a paid for car first. lol. I don't even plan to do cams, I'm not even going to take the valve cover off until I do everything else I can on the outside of the motor.

I'm adding this to the first post too. That way newbs can read why I do this.

I give ya props on going a different route. The less traveled path is often the most glorious.

I had big plans for my SS/SC, until the car started giving me problems. Dunno if i had a lemon, but it was in the shop 4-5 times in the course of 2.5 yrs because of no start, idling issues.

Now I drive something I know wont break . Cant wait to do my 100 shot plans, that probly wont happen till september though

the only problem with all your theory ralli, is your pushing 14+ psi, on a pully thats supposed to be doing 12.....
thats throwing all your results into question IMO...

Hes still using OEM stuff though. I think thats what hes trying to point out. By cooling the **** out of the "heaton", and the engine, hes making more efficient power.

The guys running 12's with little cooling mods are running 2.6" and 2.5" pullies and boosting 20+ psi. To have him run 12's with just 14 psi is MUCH MUCH better.

your not getting the point. but thats ok.
cooling is great, and i encourage everyone to do it.
I routinely drive my car with IATs in the 30s and 40s in the winter
trust me, i know what its like.

but theres a reason his car is running mid 13s on stock pully,
and its not just cooling and good driving.

tuning is the other mod ha ha ha

anyways. i thought of a few things while i was reading through this again. first off this is great dont let anyone stop you form doing this.
second why not take out the rubber and modify the plastic pieces at the back of your hood at the bottom of your windshield. if you open up that space enough hot air will vent out and youll be happier.
third what about spacing your supercharger off your intake a bit. get a nice piece of aluminum cut it to size and take the heat directly off your intake, might just help a bit but every little bit helps

O wait I just looked at his updates. Exhaust cut out, and 42.5 lb injectors arent exactly stock. Neither is the tune or a rev limit of 7500 rpms.

DUDE, hes gonna float his damn valves running a RL like that...

can u say busted LSJ...

good theory, but the aluminum spacer will soon conduct heat just the same as the intake manifold. maybe if he tried something like an extremely tough composite/high heat ABS plastic, it might help. then again he doesn't want to take anything off until he's done what he can without those kinds of modifications.

I has a question.

if we took a different, unmodded ss/sc put all the current mods you have, onto it,
and you drove it.

do you think you could replicate your 1/4 mile time?

all mods including EVERY change to the car? tune and all? I can't see why he wouldn't be able to replicate that time...
