Drive train "slack"

My '07 SS/SC seems to have a pronounced amount of slack in the drivetrain. It's most prevalent at low rpm in first and second gears when going from accelleration to decelleration. When you're in first and your jack the throttle on and off it just seems like the engine is flipping back and forth in the engine bay. Is this common? I was wondering if the Ingalls damper might help or maybe I have a bad mount. There is a bit of wheel hop when you jump on it. Any thoughts? Thanks.

The damper helps a little bit the engine still moves. If you don't mind the vibes i'd go with solid mounts and prothane tranny bushings.

Don't buy the Damper... just jump straight to the Poly Trans Mounts. You can buy them from ZZP and have them very soon (they usually ship my stuff the day after I order). I bought the Damper and then the mounts... and then I sold the damper, because it was useless with the mounts.

As far as the slack, I know what you are talking about. The mounts (of any kind) don't seem to help that. And I don't know what does.

Check your control arm bushings.

Mine are shot at 45,000m and my entire wheel assemblies can move forward and backward a good two inches or so between braking and accelerating
