dual bypass + ca heat exchanger

dual bypass + ca heat exchanger

Ok i need some help. I just bought the dual bypass set up from gm and i have a ca heat exchanger on order. I chose to run option b for the dual bypass. When i go to install the extra cooling tank where will the bleader hose go. The cA heat exhanger does not have a port like the stock aftrecooler does.

the 1/4'' hose route from the top of the extra tank to the front of the passenger side underneathe the grill . You have to pop the snap clips that hold the grill in and pull it back enough to see the top of the radiator and you will see a plug . That is where the 1/4" hose goes.

no i am talking about using the cobalt addiction heat exchanger not the factory one.

please you heat exchanger guys need help

y not run both and do the Heat Exchanger Modification Protecter or H.E.M.P. for short if not u might be going up in smoke. HEMP is great on those long trips where animals can jump out and **** ur **** up

Please tell me you did not take out the stock HE when you did the CA one. If you did, right now, take your right hand, and slap yourself in the face as hard as you can, then go outside and put the stock HE back inline with the CA one

i dont have my cobalt addiction heat exchanger yet. I said that in the first post. They tell you to take out your stock heat exchanget though

There is not a bleeder port on the C/A H/E. If you wanna run the option B setup you need to keep the stock H/E as well. I plan on doing this when I install the H/E sometime next week. Just gotta get my brackets ready. Don't wanna jus use thiers, they will get rusty. I'm debating painting them in black wrinke paint or making them outta stainless or aluminium.

is it good to keep the stock heat exchanger with the ca one. Will my radiator get enough air. Also can i turn the ca one upside down and use the drain as a bleeder. Also will the ca one make that much of a difference compaired to stock

^Yeah it is good to keep the stock HE and just add the second HE inline. But, I would not recommend turning the CA unit upside down to try and use the drain as a bleeder. Just use the stock bleeder for your option B and you will be all smiles.

As soon as my dual pass is finished and my surge tank comes in this is how mine will be set-up.

Also the stock HE is sandwiched between the AC condensor and the Radiator, it would be a nightmare to remove

Plumb the CA heat exchanger in AFTER the fluid passes through the stock HE. I can't imagine what CA was thinking when they said to remove the stock HE.

I don't know about the CA unit, but so long as it doesn't leak it will do the job man. Pretty much any HE (of adequate size) is going to be beneificial in this set-up.

I know it can be done ALOT cheaper than what they are charging. My set-up, with the Cobra HE and bwoody brackets will be up and running for ~130. I'm just waiting on CED to ship my dual pass, surge tank, and a few other pieces, then hopefully I'll be up and running cool next weekend

I plan on installing the dual pass Option B....and now I'm kicking myself in the ass for taking the stock heat exchanger out. I figured I didn't need it because I replaced it with the CA heat exchanger. The GM dual pass kit didn't exist back then.

BTW....my original ac condensor, stock heat echanger, and radiator was damaged from running over an un-avoidable tire on the road at 85MPH.

Now need to search for a stock heat exchanger.
