I take it you have a redline from your sig, so you'll need a 90 degree piece and not just a straight up one.
plug the other end of your bleeder line into that one.

and to whoever asked about the aftermarket h/e, if you have something inbetween your radiator and your grill that would prob be an aftermarket one.
The kit came with the brass fitting, I just left it in the box. I removed stock H/E, just have front mount CX.

Yeah I know it did but GM are idiots and don't know that their redline and cobalt are different. Idk what to tell you you could drill a hole but if your temps are fine i'd say oh well. it is better to have it though.

Your sig says you are an idiot , so leave GM alone. GM sell a COBALT kit. REDLINES are like ORPHANS. live with it. I do. Without the .040 restrictor and a bleed line the h/e system will trap air. Period. Makes that fancy new h/e useless

Ok qwikredline, I've been trying to find the answer to this question for a while. I have JUST a CXR h/e. I also have the extra coolant res. like Stu. I have 2 nipples on the tank itself just capped. And there isn't a hose going from h/e to the tank. My temps seem to be ok. Ambient is around 75-80 and my cruising temps are 95-105. Do I need to have a bleeder line??

Ah yes. I actually used your how to when I did my install. Nice write up Because the CX has a filler cap on top it's easy to top up and with the option b I really don't think it is possible for air to enter the system. If pluggin the hole worked for you, I'll just do the same.

Air gets in the system by the fluid getting hot & bubbling just like a pan on thee stove does when you boil water!

wrong...

a pressurized water system does not boil.

the impurities in the water will cause "air bubbles" to form in the water but then again, you should only be using distilled water and dex-cool, no?

50/50 Dex-cool all the way. In -40 celsius ya gotta. Not that i drive it in the winter anyways. And with dual pass and the big cx I'd think the only way my inter-cooler water would boil was if my car was on fire.

Speaking of running water, you guys suggest using distilled water only when temps won't get to freezing?
I assume you gotta run dexcool when it could hit freezing considering distilled water would freeze up?

That product has mixed emotions, some independent tests show 0 degree difference and others say marginal. Waist of money if you have no differnce in temp.

If you do it, 12oz

Down here in FL it has done some wonders for me...

In the late summer coolant temps never went above 191 Sitting, or 181 while driving pretty hard.
