What said about corrosion isnt exactly true. It will also corrode aluminum if it sets on it for a while (so with methanol). In one of the old racecars that got turbo'ed and runs e85 it ate the fuel pump impellers while it sat with e85 in the tank all summer, not moving. If the car had been run a few times over that time period it would have been fine. It will also eat through fiberglass fuel tanks found in boats and the storage tanks for most gas stations, because it is an alcohol solvent and eats the resin.
