make sure when you take out the filter to put a rag under it so the excess oil doesnt get on the engine. then take it out that way...the hardest oil filter i ever had to change

I loosened it with a 32mm socket and extension, but after that I just reached under the s/c and twisted it off by hand. My hands aren't exactly small, either, but it wasn't too hard. As long as you let the car sit long enough to cool off, drippage from the filter will be minimal, too, as the oil drains from it when the car's off.

Ooohhh... wow I can't wait to do the oil change. Honestly doesn't sound like fun. Stupid Chevy makes something so easy into something more difficult.

Torque wrench set to 25nm/18ft-lbs, 10" extension, universal joint (the how-to doesn't list the joint, but I found it makes it A LOT easier), and a 1 1/4" socket (short)

Quit being girls and just take the blower off. Shouldn't take you more than 10 minutes and you will only have to do it like 25 times at most if you keep the vehicle for the full warranty. I've probably had mine off and one that many times by now.

did mine today and even with small hands it sucked trying to pull out the stupid oil filter. Then it also sucks that this little 4 cyl takes 6.5 quarts. I put in 6 and it barely reads on the dipstick so i have to go pick up another if not 2.
