Ejecting Intercooler Coolant HELP PLEASE!!!
Hey guys, I just finished my dual pass installation, haven't done option b yet, and just went out for some fun with friends, it finally stopped raining, and we did many back to back pulls and after like the fourth or fifth one my passanger and I smelled a faint smell of coolant and noticed a HUGE drop in the performance of my car....
As soon as we got back to the meet I popped my hood and noticed that in the little filler neck all of my coolant was gone. I then bent up the little over flow tube and noticed that it was all wet, like it just done its job. I went to my trunk and pulled out a gallon of dex and poured some more in and it swallowed up a good amount..... My question to you is:
1) What is going on?
2) And how can I fix it?
My car was running super strong and then it just died and the car bogged an ass load if I was too low in a gear, but before it didn't, and also when you floored it in this condition you could feel the motor strain like it was trying to go and it felt like my mom's focus could have outrun me....
Thanks a ton for the help!
Mike

Ya, I undid the bleeder screw on top of the factory heat exchanger and let it run for a good time and I eventually got it to just pour liquid out with no bubbles.... so I thought that all of the air was out....
Do you have any other mods? depending i might not wanna run it untill u get more than just an dual pass...
question from me... if you dont have the option b tank is there a possiblity of the engine not having enough coolant thus allowing air to enter?

make sure your intercooler pump is still working they are **** on these cars
and if it is then you just have air in the system most likely

Defiantely sounds like heatsoak due to air in the system. Even with Option B it took my car about 500 miles to bleed all the air out of the system. If you are not running Option B it can take alot longer. You are basically going to have to drive it a while then check the coolant level. Add coolant, remove screw and bleed. Drive again. Repeat. Then repeat again and again until when you drive the collant level no longer drops. Could take 2 weeks. Could take 2 days. Option B makes it so much nicer.
Oh, I would refrain from doing hard pulls until you are sure all the air is out of the system.

You can open that cap in front of the supercharger and let it idle for awhile and it will let all the air pockets out
Me?
Front mount, 2.79, i/h/e clutch and flywheel, axles, meth.... it keeps on going lol

Okay, thanks a ton you guys for the helpful info. I will keep this thread updated with my findings so that when others use the SEARCH button, LMAO
, they can have some hard evidence. Mike

What you felt performance wise was timing being pulled from the lack of cooling and IAT's soaring. Took about two weeks for my system to completely evacuate all the air pockets. There is a bleeder screw on top of the factory IC that can help remove some of the air from the system.

sweet thanks man
That little screw has helped out a lot so far. And it is slowly getting back to normal.
Okay guys, since I drive so much each day I have been filling her up quite a lot at each stop and have come to the conclusion that there was just a ton of air in the lines. Went out again tonight and attacked it hard with some friends and showed the mustang guys up and it was pulling better than ever. Thank you so much for all of your help when I needed it most.
