Enthusiasts and vendors alike... header testing inside!
that's only a few hours worth of labor. might as well upgrade to arp headstuds while you're at it
p.s. when my headgasket blew, i found out it was not the headgasket at all, rather it was the stock head bolts failing, specifically on the 1-2 piston side. the headgasket actually looked fine.
keep posted on that, if you could?

arp studs? yes
cometic head gasket? yes
I've heard of the resilience of the cometic head gaskets, which has me thinking now that it's probably something more serious. Gasket has about 7k miles on it.

The engine grenading on itself has to do with your right foot 90% of the time. Don't "whack-a-mole" the right pedal in second gear, and your motor will thank you. Mine didn't blow before I remodeled it, and it still holds strong now. Can't wait till I start to drop pulley sizes
well, if it is, then I am going with the darton sleeves. I chose not to the first time since they should have been able to handle the cylinder pressures. I might be wrong. Plus I've heard about the resilience of the cometic head gaskets.
It was already too late, I needed to build the engine anyway when I deployed the first time. I had the pistons for cyl. 1 and 2 pop on me. After looking at what caused such a great loss of power, the jbody header was on my car when it started smoking the first time. Both pistons were cracked on the side, and the rings were shot. The cylinder walls looked good, so we continued on with those. It's funny, Witt and WsFrazier were telling me that they were hoping for the best and would be watching. I guess my engine held on as long as it could. So to answer your question, this'll be the second time building it. But I'm actually going to have my hands in it, so I know it'll be right. All of the trouble I've had with the engine since I've gotten back was because of the person I trusted to build it.
Never again. It'll be right this time.
You should have listend to this guy , See why i was telling you im not gonna build my engine until i blow up , because gm has the best engine build i have seen on a lsj to date . So why mess with it and have to build it twice. But i hope it is a head gasket and nothing major , i would hate to see you drop out the game for a while.l

I know a few engine builders on here, so I am going to get some ideas, and do the research before I start buying things again. I got a little nest egg coming next month, I may just have to use it to get the car back running again.`

I'll look online tonight for the gm build book. See what I have to get for the rebirth.
I guess the worst thing is that I'm not even upset that this happened. It's just another chance for me to learn more about the car. Hands on experience.
just did a compression test on all cylinders. no. 1,3,and 4 all show around 200, where no. 2 is at 0. so at least i know where to start.

I want in on this. I'll help turn a few wrenches. This will be a learning experience for me. Feel free to do this at my house, if you can get it here.
Sorry to hear about this bro, hopefully you won't be down to long. My cars currently getting built as we speak, should be done in a week or two I suspect. I cracked my 1st and 2nd piston, dunno how but it happened. It will be twice as strong once its done though =D.
