Exhaust help and suggestions!!!
I can have a local shop fabricate me an exhaust in any size piping from headers back for a total of 150 dlls. What do you guys recommend? Catless or high flow cat, What size exhaust should I get? my mods are the 2.7 inch pulley with the 60 lbs. and poly mounts. Is this a good price? what should i do?

If you going 2.5 don't bother changing from the whole cat-back. The SS/SC has a mandrel bent exhaust all the way back until it goes over the rear axle where in reduces down to 2.25. If you replace that section you will have a perfect 2.5 inch cat-back with out all the extra cost. Put a magnaflow muffler part #12256 for about $60 and use your stock tip. My total set up is going to cost $110 after tax. If anyone wants the info of the place on the internet that has it for $60 shipped let me know and I will post it.
2.5" on the stock catback is sorta untrue even before the axle. At the flange before the resonator, the openning is actually 2 1/8 inches. Also, where the stock exhaust is welded, it also goes down to about 2 1/8 and then 2.25 inches. I believe its best if you replace the whole thing. Plus, the stock resonator is restrictive, and can be replaced by a straightflow glasspack resonator for extra flow.

a crush bent 3in exhaust is only as big as about a 2.34 -2.4 mandrel bent exhaust maybe even smaller

no where did I see it go all the way down 2 1/8". I measured with the exhaust on and off the car and there was nothing close to 2 1/8. The stock resonator isn't really restrictive because it is really just a straight through muffler. The muffler is the true weak spot in the exhaust.
maybe my 2.0 S/C has a different exhaust then. it is mainly 2.25", but there are tight overlapped spots of 2 1/8 inside the flange and at the weld where the pipe was made to fit inside the 2.25" pipe in the joining sections. Rulers don't lie. i'm talking about inside diameters though, if you're talking about 2.25 outside diameter, then i'm sorry about the miscommunication.
Also, I didn't check, but are you sure that the resonator doesn't have a plug in it also? lots of resonators have straight pipes, but have plugs in that straight pipe to force the air around and in the holes to muffle the sound. i should check mine, but i'm out of town at the moment.

Go to www.performancepeddler.com type 12256 in the search box. When you check out type ebaydiscount as the discount code and the the price will drop to $60 and some change. If the price does not go down e-mail him or click on the make and offer and offer $60.
If you add magnaflow muffler #10436 in the place of the resonator you will have the same setup as the magnaflow cat-back system.

yeah, its all about the inner area, i'm sure a bigger crush bent exhaust would allow for good flow. Usually the best thing to do is to buy mandrel bends and straight pipes and weld them together. I'm not sure what shops do what, but i'd think its actually easier to buy pre-bent mandrel bent angled pipes and straight pipes, cut accordingly and weld together.
