Exhaust question... input appreciated

Ok, the time has come for me to purchase an cb exhaust system. I've been doing my research and from all the catback sound clips I have heard I came to the conclusion that the corsa exhaust best fits my taste(although its not quite the sound I am looking for.) I'm looking for something with a really deep tone, not ricey, and not too loud. I was wondering if anyone knows of any other exhaust systems alot deeper than the corsa that I might not be aware of? Also is it possible to put a flowmaster on our cars, if so does anyone on here have it?

Flowmaster to me sounds the riciest but they do make a flowmaster for sport compacts, the 60 series.

Link for info also with generic sound clip

Video of SS with flowmaster.

ok now that we're past that, I like Magnaflow, I'm in the R&D phase of designing my own magnaflow based cat back for my 06 ss/sc but I'm a V8 fanatic so I'm really picky about the way my 4 bangers sound.

^^^ I think we're thinking on the same line. I'm used to turbo'd cars so I'm pretty picky as well. Is there anything out there to make our cars sound like beasts like the sti's srt4s and evo's?. Do you have a link of a magnaflow sound clip? I could only find one of a guy in a indoor parking lot so theres alot of echos.

OTOH the guy in the generic sound clip cant drive for crap.

I run a weapon r 4-2-1 header and the corsa sport exhaust. The fit was perfect and after about 1000 miles, the sound is great

I thought the exhaust had to be cut because the Weapon R 421 header is to long?? is this true?? I would like to order it if it all fits up nice, Vibrant has taken up all my patience at this time.
Where did you get your header from and how much?

A friend of mine with a mini cooper s has a custom exhaust with no muffler, and that thing sounds MEAN! Although, even with that, and the intake and smaller pulley, he still was behind...

honestly i think the BEST way to go and the way i SHOULD have gone is a custom cat back with a magnaflow muffler. alot of the guys on here have that because it is pretty much the magnaflow catbackback for less than the gmpp price! Magnaflow has a pretty deep tone man. My Megan Racing muffler also has a deep tone, not ricey at all but it is a DRIFT SPEC type muffler which means it may look kinda ricer and its a LITTLE bit angled. But i like it nonetheless and it suits my taste, and my pocketbook at only $350 shipped. BUt its pretty much all personal preference, good luck!

I had the Corsa and it didn't have the best sound quality. I changed over to the GMPP touring and although it's a bit on the "quiet" side, I think it sounds amazing. It isn't an exhaust thats going to scare people away from racing you and it doesn't sound "mean" but its a nice aggresive tone thats a bit more civilized and refined. I love it!

I started with the gm sport exhaust. The gm exhaust is only 2 1/4 and is the same size as stock. That is why I ordered my corsa exhaust. It's 2 3/4 inch
The weapon r header will bolt right up to your stock exhaust.

With the weapon r header, installation is kinda a bitch. You have to drop the sub frame which takes two guys. the weapon r comes as a two piece but when it's installed, it tends to leak at the joint. I got tierd of messing with it and removed it welded of the joint to make it a one piece and now it works much better. According to weapon r, if you weld it, it won't fit. I didn't run into any problems. I installed it in about 3 hours.
however, with the weapon r, you have to have your rear o2 senser turned off or you will throw codes.

Actually the stock exhaust is a 2.5 inch peice, you go to a smaller pipe with the GMPP exhaust but it flows 35-40% better than stock. This exhaust is good for well over 275 whp so there really isn't any need for a bigger exhaust. The Corsa exhaust is a 2.5 inch pipe, at least that's what was on my car and there was no difference in power between the two. With the Corsa it sounds like you're going faster (kind of like a Civic) and with the GMPP it feels more like stealth mode. All in all, both exhausts are great, GMPP is about half the cost though.

Corsa Sport FTW! or if you want something more quiet, go with the corsa touring, its a more deeper tone!

Ok. the stock exhaust I took off my car on the tape was 2 3/8 ID
the GMPP I started with was 2 1/4
The corsa I now run with is 2 3/4 on the tape ID
The gm exhaust was a mellow sound and wasn't aggressive enough for me
with the weapon r header (no cat or down pipe) and the corsa sport exhaust I have the sound I was looking for

ARK N2 It has to be the best exhaust I have ever heard and looks well just check out my pics. The price was about 20 dollars more than the magnaflow and the sound is so deep it will rattle your insides standing behind the car. And did I mention the quality...Full mirror polished,no clamps all flanges(so no leaks ever) Just my opinion though and opinions are like you know what. But seriously just ask some of the people that were at the STL Meet last week...I had so many compliments and I think almost everyone there was under my car checking it out at some point throughout the day.

I'd go with the GMPP. A bit pricey yes. But great sound, great performance. But best of all, its covered by GM. Bitchin'

the stock is 2.5 in diameter with a drop down to 2.25 before the really restrictive muffler. Save the money on the cat-back and replace that 2.25 section back. Way cheaper, same performance.

Although still undecided, I'd like to thank everyone for all of your input. I atleast get a general idea of which exhaust to get now. Thanks a bunch.
