Fuel Injectors Question
Fuel Injectors Question
Ok so I was told that running a higher octane with the stock injectors was not good. Reason why I asked was last summer I mixed 93 octane and 100 octane at the pump and my car LOVED it. Seemed rev happy to me. So my question is with the aftermarket injectors or the injectors that come with the Stage kits.. will they be ok to handle the higher octane or was the info I was told wrong? Thanks
Shouldnt make a different, seeing how your from newyork. as long as your not mixing leaded fuel, which might damage your fuel system and sensors, you should be fine. those living in, say..... el paso tx, where the altitude is high and best gas is 91 octane will definately see a slight acceleration increase. but nothing too crazy. Feel free to correct me.
Now why does the Stage 1 for the SRT-4 come with 577cc/min (54.9 lbs/hr) and the Stage 2 come with 682cc/min (64.9 lbs/hr) and our Stage 1 and 2 comes with 446cc/min (42.5 lbs/hr) injectors? Could this be because the SRT-4's have a 2.4L engine?
Check out this neat little tool

Our fuel pressure is 62 PSI. I dunno if the SRT-4 is on a 43.5 PSI system but they probably need bigger injectors to get more fuel while we have more pressure so we don't need as big of injectors.
The SRT-4 also makes more HP and is a turbo so it probably runs a bit richer.
