Fuel Line Disconnect Help

I just ordered a fuel filter from ced, should have it in a few days. I read the how to, and it seems very straight forward. The only thing im not sure about is how to use the quick disconnect. I was looking at the picture and it just looks like a circle, and it doesn't make any mention in the how to as far as what to actually do with it. any help would be appreciated.

It is a special tool you need, most times made from plasic, and come in a set of 5, you most likely need the 3/8" one and they can be purchased at a auto parts store for about $5.00

Hope that helps

If you have the green quick disconnect all you have to do is open the tab from the bottom kinda like pry on the side with the little lip on it then push it up to release the filter. It's hard to explain in words but if you have that version of it you won't need the special disconnect tool.

The quick disconnect tool is just designed to hold all four tabs (90 degrees apart from each other) that hold the connection in place while you pull back on the line (carefully). It is just a snap-fit design. It's easier and simplier than it looks.

ok, not it makes sense. again, i'm asking all this with out ever looking, and i'm sure once i get under the car it will make more sense.

so, what i get from shabodah is that the disconnect tool goes AROUND the line, and there's 4 tabs that come out and catch on the end of the tool, which will then let me release the line. is that right?

The tool pushes against the tabs which would otherwise spring inward against the line, so yes.
