Fuel pump ? + other ?

Has any one upgraded their fuel pump? where is it and how hard was it to change? also what pump did you choose? are you running 60 lb injectors?

Is it safe to run a 2.8 pulley without meth and or a front mount cooler? or should you have atleast a front mount?

thanks

you can run a 2.8 and 60lb injectors without a heat exchanger or meth, but its not recomended. and most guys dont bother upgraqding the fuel pump, our stock pump does flow quite a bit. the best upgrade would be a retuen fuel system kit, however its not really needed for what your asking about.

Heres my rule with the 2.8 and no cooling (which ive ran for about 7 months now, no problems)

if your going to "pass" somebody, your not going to blow your engine. What is bad is back to back to back runs with no cooling mods. This can get dangerous.

If you do a couple runs, and give your car time to cool (without turning it off) then youll be fine.

For your 2006, there would be no point in changing the fuel pump.

The 06+ fuel pumps flow enough to support nearly 400WHP with 60# injectors. If you get to 400WHP+, you will need to raise fuel pressure and in that case the Walbro flows less than the OEM pump and is less reliable. By rewiring the OEM fuel pump, you can increase it's output by ~10%.

A return style fuel system will not increase the output of the pump.

In my opinion you would not need our return style kit just yet. Most users have a different power adder, tvs or turbo. The kit does effectively lower idc's and increase fuel pressure and can be used with the stock or walbro pump if you so chose.
