getting some fun codes and the shifter feels strange

hey so im in an LSJ 04 Ion Redline and we just finished replacing the trans with a brand new one (see my other thread for the deetz)

anyways, we FINALLY get it all back together and started and its spitting codes P0606, P1680, and P1681.

also i noticed that the shifter feels like its rotated to the left a little bit, and we accidentally broke the plastic part that goes around the base of the black shifter cable. it's still in tact but loose and annoying to get back onto the bracket

according to what ive pulled up, i need a new PCM, though im hoping im wrong since ive already through $1000 at this fiasco and while anothe $300 isnt a massive deal, its still annoying.

thanks

So the codes are gone and taken care of, took it for a spin and the shifts are rotated to the left, ie I have reverse, 3 4 and 5th gears, no first or second

Now to make sure the cables are hunkey dory

the cables are still not hunky dory and to compound the problem, the EPS fuse keeps blowing and shutting down all the electricals in the car

i had to buy a 40a fuse at meijer since AZ was closed and i was stranded, went to start it, and it popped as soon as i twisted it which makes me wonder if the starter may be shorting

i need advice/ideas on this asap because on tuesday my parents will be needing their car again, and i have school every day so any help would be wonderful

your probably having a contact somewhere check all your wires make sure there all hooked up or you might just have to buy a new starter

So for some reason this is currently neutral on my car:

Because its left and down so far, when I have the mechanism that you pull up to put it in reverse on it won't let me go into first or second without pulling up on it

How do I make the shifter in the centre? Do I have to mess with it at the trans or in the shifter box? Or is the short shifter bent and I need a new one

You said something on the shifter cables broke? That could be your issue. Also did you try adjusting the cables at all?

Yeah after having them looked at they're fine, it looks like after we installed the cables we didn't have the trans in fourth so I think I just gotta reinstall and recalibrate it

yup exactly and turns out the codes were from trying to start the car with the battery not fully connected
