I had Jeff Creech tune me in Durham.. Carolina auto masters. He pulled 240 out of it on the first run with a tune off the top of his head. Very experienced tuner, costs me $400 for the first tune, and $80 to tune after I did some more bolt ons, no limit on pulls, etc. I've heard of Mayhem, but never checked them out. Anyway, looks like you made out pretty good. I'll keep my eye out for a black balt with gold wheels, lol!

Where the hell are you finding E85 near Sanford?? There's a pump in Garner, and one near Cary Auto Mall close to Apex, thats it. I would've been running E if it wasn't for the lack of pumps.

That doesn't sound like a bad tune either man, I didn't know there were many options for Cobalt tuners in NC haha I was gonna just do a Trifecta but I really want a dyno tune after I supercharge. I may have to check both of these places out! And I also will definitely be filling my tank up with E85 before my tune hahaha they are a rarity that's for sure.

Hell yeah dude I actually just got a Magnaflow 2.5" Catback w/resonator it's quiet right now but he set it up to sound very nice with a little boost haha. So What all you have on you in Apex that you're ready to sell?

so the mods the OP has are.....

TVS w/ 2.8 pulley
80s w/ return fuel... running e85
intake
non stock exhaust

316whp is the best they could do? seems very low to me.

what cooling mods do you have?

seems like the shop doesn't really know much "remove the maf"

i'm going to recommend that you contact M-Dub and have him tune you. he's much more experienced with Cobalts than that shop probably is.

for the record, i'm not hating on that shop. i just believe for what you paid for a dyno tune, you could/should be putting more power down.

i have tried getting in contact with mdub for over a month and he hasnt responded back.
my cooling mods are an ottp h/e, dual endplate and the option b tank. my iats stay anywhere from 25 to 35 degrees above outside temp and get to about 140 to 150 on real hard pulls all the way threw 4th gear. on just small pulls when im just crusiing it will hit about 120 or so, but the temps drop back down quick. now on the tune i was kinda pissed because i was told i would see numbers like 350 or so. isnt there a thread on here with hp/tq numbers for peoples setups?

remember that a chassy dyno is not an absoloute it is more of a tuning tool you can go to a different dyno and put down more or less hp/tq

One thing people fail to remember is that without octane the TVS is worthless. If you don't have LOTS of meth or e85 you will not see much over 300. With e85 and or lots of meth you can easily see 350 with a good tune and the right injectors

ok so you have proper cooling mods..... and your IAT2's seem good to me. the only thing i'd change there is dump the OTTP h/e & factory h/e for a Griffin h/e. but it's pricey so i understand if you don't want to go that route right now.

i believe M-Dub is going thru some things with work, he works all night & sleeps most of the day and does it all over again. i'll hit him up for you guys.

Let me first state.... Mayhem does good work... their reputation with Cobalts however isn't so great. They have one thats been blown up there for a year or 2 now.

I know Jay there very well and they all know I tune Cobalts ALOT at their shop.

As for you guys sending me emails... I work a ton, I have alot going on in my life right now I'm sorry if I don't respond or I ask alot of questions... it's how I decide if it's a project I feel like tackling.

send me an email mdub25200@gmail.com and I will get back with you. You can ask the other 50 cars I have tuned... I get back with you sometimes just takes me a bit. I work weird hours where access to email and phones isn't exactly appropriate.
