Yeah, i've heard something similar to that effect. Just sit back and wait for Stage2+ news.

Oh and about the clutch. Launching or not, these clutches are used in the Timeattack and other GM competition Cobalts, with no problems. I wouldnt keep my hopes up on GM doing anything about the clutch.

If you like launching on the strip, i'd start hunting aftermarket.

of courss it helps. the wheel hop is reduced quite a bit.

..... no... feathering the clutch will increase the wear and tear on the car. i dont know if you are reffering to feathering the clutch or throttle.... but feathering the clutch will burn it up quickly.

and sorry... i just cant help it even thought i hate it when ppl correct spelling:
Sertainly = Certainly

edit: ugg.. i hate when i have several windows open for a while and i dont refresh.... this was on page 1 when i posted.
.... emmmm... i can smoke the tires without wheel hop. i do live at 7,000ft... but i have gotten wheel hop aswell. i think it is just a driving style. but i can dump the clutch at high or mid rpm and just rip up the tires. couldnt tell you if i ease on the throttle or not... i just do it naturally without thinking. only gotten wheel hop once or twice.... but you can feel it coming on. none-the-less... the car does have a great amount of wheel hop.

i highly doubt the clutch will ever be a factory upgrade.

i agree 100%. the clutch has to be designed for consumer driving. not track racing or the enthusiasts on this site.

kit = 750
kit after tax = 806
labor = 255
total = $1061
orange county, ca

i know i'm getting f.cked over on the labor, and when i told them it should only take them 1.5 hours they looked all surprised and said, no this'll take around 3 hours.

then again, they also didnt even know about the kits until i made them look it up.
"how much is it for the stage 2"
"gm doesn't make a stage 2"
"check your computer"
"...oh"

i hate my dealership.

Cool Stage Upgrades Vs. Gas Mileage

Ok... silly question im sure...

Anyone who has installed the Stage 1/2 System on their SS Supercharged

What has your gas mileage turned into

I am a college student and i want to be able to mess around but i need decent gas mileage as well. What are the numbers you guys are getting?

Thanks
Brett

When it comes to the reflash I was also quoted to pay to have it installed. It seems that we are paying seperately for the software (with kit) and the labour (to install software)
I will ask for clarity on Friday when I get mine installed.

So let's say down the road I want to buy a SFPH 2.8 Pulley or BilletFlow because I want to drop the 3" that GM gives u in the kit.. I would be able to do this right? and if i was reading correctly that the computer will now adjust to the amount of boost given?

I was just reading this whole thing over again and realized you must have felt like an ass when you were posting blindly like you did on the first page.

I'm sure that's while feeling out the car. Which all of us will do for the first month or two. As long as you can keep your foot out of the throttle, I'm hoping, the fuel consumption should change to drastically. It will go down. More power uses for fuel.

alright another nitty question. I just dont want to get screwed in the end.

What happens to my extended warrenty etc. I literally bought up to 80k warrenty and i think 7 years. Does that void or reduce?

It will go down a little because u are using larger injectors of course... but that is the price u have to pay if u want to play.. car needs fuel to make power

I know i'm answering my own question but i couldn't see why not.. plus 1 of the reasons i got Stage 2 is for the smaller belt rather than a cheap fix with a tensioner. But I couldn't see any problem by removing it.. but i was reading in another post that someone said it was a modular pulley meaning it was interchangable.. does this mean GM may do something with that?

Check your warrenty paperwork.

Doesn't matter what we said, it's what the warrenty says.

You have a 60k/5year powertrain warrenty with the cobalt by default as well.
