thats just what my dealership told me. they are an authorized gm performance dealership. i didnt believe it at first but he checked the performance catalog online a few times and the prices were still $300 stage 1, $400 stage 2.

Bet that 400 is for stage 1-->2 and must be combined with stage 1 to get a 700 total cost.

Wow i just got quoted $802.75 CDN for Stage 1...that's a rip off compaired to the US pricing. The Canadian dollar isn't that bad right now. $1.00US = $1.17CDN I guess i will get it from the US and ship it.

They recommend you put 91+ octane without the kit. That's not going to change.

Good to hear you weren't paying the original price. When I saw it I said "ouch"...well it was a more profane comment.

Personally I would wait on a part just to not be screwed over. Nothing wrong with making money, but gouging is uncalled for.

It sucks how it only lasted one week and that they didnot build enough kits for every ss to order one.
At least they released a few at the end of March, instead of waiting for a larger batch and holding off another 1-2 months.

Just got quoted 4.5 hours for install at the dealer, priced by each item in the kit because they dont have the actual kit time in the database. After a few phonecalls, i think we got them directed to the right information about the kit being a 1.5 hour install.

Time will tell, possibly done today, for sure finished by tomorrow.

After doing some calling around, the GM Performance Parts Catalog does actually have a published install time of 1.5 hours. After bringing this fact to my dealer's attention, he was more than willing to "work with me" on the quoted install time of 3.5 hours eventually knocking it down to 2 hrs (30 minute buffer for any difficulties encountered b/c it's their first stage kit install). Just a heads up to those of you planning on a dealer installation.

Mine took 2 hours to install at the dealership and I watched. so 2 hours is realisticaly what you're looking at.

Where EXACTLY did you find this?
I am looking at Page 260 of the latest GMPP catalog, where all 3 Stage Kits are listed and there is no indication of installation time whatsoever.

i'd want them to take their time somewhat, rushing isn't good. if they need the extra time so something doesn't get screwed up and i don't have to go back there then that's fine with me.

Wow! MEWS Sucks! Sorry to hear they tried to screw you. Did you try any other dealers in Ottawa? Chevy West? Belisle? Are they still charging you for the gaskets? I already had work done on my car at Chevy West where they were required to take off the sc, maybe they know what they are doing. Either way, good luck! And may the week until your install feel like an hour!

I just put the 2.9 on and haven't drove it yet. JMC007 has been running a 2.6 for a while now. THe Gen 5 blower as stated earlier is rated at a continuous speed of 16000 rpm so there is no need to worry. If I blow it I blow it that's what a buddy "inside" is for
