That's what I was thinking. I would go to a shop that has a properly working dyno, before getting upset.

Wasey, I don't care what kind of crap you keep posting. TORQUE IS USED TO CALCULATE HORSEPOWER. If you feel torque you feel horsepower.....

If you guys take a quick read VIC RED said that the dyno was off wheel speed not RPMS.

I said, what if i take it home, install the injectors, then bring it back to you and have you re-flash it, he said it wouldnt be under warranty.

He also said that the new injecotrs would be dumping so much fuel the computer would flip out and go crazy !

I get to keep my full warranty with the car, so that's why I did it.

The tech was on the phone with the "whoever in wherever" {getting the download i guess?} for at least 30 minutes
So if I get you right..............you paid 30 mins of labour for this download that they'll turn around and use for the next person..........and the next job will be done in less time for the next person correct???

YOU CAN'T FEEL A MATHEMATICAL EQUATION!!!!!!!!

Same way you can't feel speed. You feel acceleration. Horsepower is a purely mathematical function, it does not exist as a simple entity. It is a function of torque. If you took our car and did nothing but raise the rev limiter, allowing it to produce a higher top-end horsepower but not doing anything to the torque curve (since it would show no further increase in torque), the car would not feel faster because torque is all that you are feeling, you cannot physically feel horsepower. Hell you cannot even measure horsepower on a dyno. You can only measure torque, the computer then translates that into horsepower using a mathematical function involving engine RPMs...

I think I will just stop reading Stage Kit posts, I am going to a very reliable dyno shop next week and hopefully I can disprove all of this nonsense.

no the flash is only good for the vin they give along with the autorization number. New flash needs to be downloaded each time

I am not disagreeing SP? with this at all. WASEY keeps jumping everyones asses about this and I was just telling him you do feel HP in a way. Of course he thinks he is the smartest person every created and I wanted to show him he is not.... I thought he got banned for being an ass anyway.... Oh well....

Really you don't FEEL torque anyway.... You FEEL acceleration... Torque is a rotational force. If you guys want to feel torque I could pick you up and spin you around or something... LOL

Either way somethings fishy, like I have been saying the stage kits have the same recipe for power that all the other kits out have and theres 2 people with crap dynos (no offense) but than theres at least 3 guys with stg2 saying that theres no way the kits are this weak, than we also have the contribution of the SRT4 guys saying that mopar stg 2 never dynoed well but hauled ass at the track (if im not mistaken). Unfortunately we have to continue to wait, I have a feeling the kits will prove themselves yet.

HMMM... so because I am right 99.9% of the time you try to get
me rebanned? That is childish.

Actually you are wrong again. How do you feel acceleration??? You said the key word rotational FORCE. So you are telling me you don't feel a Force but you feel distance divided by time???

I'll agree with ya on this one. There is just to much potential with these kits to only be producing 20 hp. More boost, reflash with who knows what, and injectors. It just seems like there should be more to the gains. Surely as the miles get put on the ECM, the gains will improve. Even with the simplist mods you have to give the comp time to adjust.

Forget dynos, they mean nothing in the real world. Get some before and after track times, whether 1/4 or road course.

Someone with a stock Cobalt and no bypass mods needs to get a base dyno and Stage2 dyno on back to back days if possible.

I wish we'd baselined our Cobalt. We may be able to get it dyno'd but not for a while.

If I can remember, I estimated 10-12 % for the GM stage 2 kit.
