Gm Stage 3 pulley
Oh those part numbers are the little bits that match the GM stage 2 bolts. One is a socket and the other is screwdriver bit. Just in case you only have one or the other. Not sure which P/N is which though.
2.8, even 2.90 are big no-nos on the GM S2 tune. You will hear of people who have done it with no apparent problems, but the facts are that your injectors and cooling system will be past their maximum capabilities and you will be walking a fine line.
If you want to play it safe I would go with a stage 3 pulley (2.99). Thats what I'm running, and once again here is the differnce between S2 and S3 pullies:

So what psi of boost would I see on a 2.99 (stg3 pulley). And with a 2.8 I'd need 60s injectors and cooling mods? Also on that vid that balt that was stg3 was that only the pulley or was that the full stg3 pulley and reflash?
pyros--- how can you compare pullies when they are two different cars? one is a 2.2 sedan s/c and the other is the ss/sc ? thats not good information to be giving out imo...
This is true, but he was even with me before the S3 pulley so it is only logical. I'll see about switching the pulley out again and getting another run uploaded.
I'm not one to give out false information.

I have a stage 3 2.99 pulley and it is noticeable . I see around 16 -16.5 psi and it helps produce more boost in the lower rpm ranges VS a stage 2 pulley. The main reason i went with it was i didn't want to deal with the heat from a 2.8 or 2.9 , and the higher IDC's that go along with those pulleys. Also in the stage3 Q&A from GM they state that running the stg3 pulley on the stage 2 tune was fine for everyday driving.
GM claims 250hp for the S3 pulley vs 241hp for S2. Granted those are just numbers, but they do represent a claimed 4% increase in power any way you slice it.
The important part is that it is an increase across the entire powerband. I really wish I had a dyno sheet to prove it!

yea haha... ive been looking at smoothflow... i was gonna get the 2.9 from ppl on the forum but two ppl have flaked on me and decided not to sell... i wanna do a 2.9 cuz i plan on getting the ottp h/e as soon as school is over and i return to full time work... but if no one sells me one ill get the 2.95 from smooth
Yeah it is for a pulley, but it looks exactly like a regular stage 2 pulley unless you can read the number's on it . Most dealers don't have a clue how many MM a stage 2 or 3 pulley would be anyway but visibly they won't notice a thing.
O ok and to go any lower than a 2.95 I'd need cooling mods and bigger injectors?
And a tune right? Is a 2.96 or 2.97 ok to run off the gm canned tune right?

ok if you go up by hundreths, your not gonna really notice... the stage 3 is a 2.99 or basically a 3.0... the 2.96 or 2.97 is just rediculous... go by halfs.. 3.0, 2.95, 2.9, 2.85, 2.8.
