GMPP manifold install help

Before I put in the manifold, I was wondering if I should cut corners and order new lower flange studs, or if its easy to transfer them. I wasnt sure if they are a ***** to get out.

Has anyone come across this?

i had the same prob. the manifold is exactly the same as our stock, just extruded and honed so your stock gaskets and studs will be fine or thats what a few and my good friend at his shop who installed it told me.

dont take my word for it. if anything call GM and ask them of just wait for a couple of similiar answers.

They are the EXACT same manifold... but go ahead and get new Bolts & gaskets JUST IN CASE... you can always sell them on here.

Depending on how many miles you got... changing the gaskets is a good idea. I broke 2 bolts taking off the old Manifold @ 12,000miles. Up to you. Better safe than sorry.

There should be no reason to replace the studs unless you damage one. They are completely reuseable.

they are reusable but id order them anyways, they are not expensive and you dont want to wind up with a broken stud and no replacement. I broke two studs when I did mine luckily I was able to salvage the nuts.

Mine installed just fine, I put in a new gasket just in case, the old one was fine though. Its a bitch to get some of the bolts out of there, but otherwise a pretty straightforward swap.

I received all hardware with the manifold. It always is a good idea to change gaskets and use new bolts if you can. The old stuff can be a pain in the a$$. Later

Ya I got both gaskets, I'm just not sure how big of a ***** the studs are to remove from the bottom flange, Ill just pay the 10 bucks and get 3 new ones. Im also putting in the Hahn downpipeat the same time, so I should have plenty of room.

If you are doing the downpipe too, i would reccommend new studs. Then you got everything brand new and matching. Put some kind of anti-sieze on the threads so if you ever need to they will actually come back out.

Im almost thinking its because the collector and the DP flange no longer have the same diameter therefore creating a ridge and we are hearing the air being pushed over that ridge into the DP.

Stock stuff might be fine... might not be... depends on how many miles you've got on the car and how hard you go on getting the stocker off.

I ordered a new gasket and new studs for mine... just to be safe.

The stud on the block broke free pretty easily. However the 3 studs on the manifold are very RUSTED and might not come out easily. I would order 3 new ones.

well... how much are these? 20$ ? and you will have them if something goes wrong.
you probably have insurance on your car which is much much more expensive, and it's if something goes wrong... just cheap insurance if you ask me..

that could be very possible. im guessin you have a stock downpipe as well, i wonder if its harming performance. im taking it back to my friends shop to get it checked out.
